TNG – National magazine wholesaler and logistics company

DIRECTOR OF CATEGORY MANAGEMENT - 2010 to present

Manage a team of 10 Category Analysts overseeing magazine distribution to over 50,000 retailers topping one billion in annual sales. Retailers include most major national and regional chains such as Walmart, Kroger, Target, Safeway, H.E.B., Meijer and Publix.

Tasked with the creation and maintenance of a display data warehouse (checkout and mainline) and product distribution to insure appropriate selection and coverage.

Conceived and implemented a system to shift product to seasonal accounts. The data intensive process shifts the distribution of hundreds of titles as accounts move into seasonal peak.

Manage the allocation and distribution of all sports championship commemoratives. Developed the “gold standard” process using a combination of geocentric mapping, sales history and sales volume.

Time Inc Retail – Logistics arm of Time Inc Publishing

NATIONAL WHOLESALE SALES MANAGER – 1992 to 2009

Promoted through the ranks with positions of Territory Manager ($10MM ), Wholesale Sales Specialist ($22MM), Senior Sales Specialist ($35MM), Regional Wholesale Sales Manager ($80MM) and National Wholesale Sales Manager ($330MM)

Managed the Time/Warner office inside the corporate headquarters of TNG.

Charged with the training and development of 8 full-time employees on-site and 2 remote employees. This included hiring, continuing education and performance management.

Managed promotions, communications and negotiations for Time Inc. magazines (including People, Time, and Sports Illustrated among others) as well as hundreds of client titles. Worked directly with TNG top management.

Promoted and maintained supplier/manufacturer relationships with SweetBay Supermarkets perishable department buyers (meat, produce, seafood and deli).

Sourced, presented and sold products from multiple suppliers to Corporate Brand Director at weekly category review meetings.

Arranged and directed plant tours to inspect vendors' manufacturing processes. Coordinated new label design and development with in-house graphics department.
