Private Equity backed, shared-mail company based in Helena, AL. Specializing in monthly package delivery to 22 million households in rural America, resulting in annual revenue of more than $180M.

Director – FP&A

Reported to the CFO and later to the VP – Controller. Charged with managing a team of 4 financial and business analysts focused on budget preparation along with intermediate and monthly forecasts. Responsible for pricing analysis and approval of advertising placement for local and national sales representatives. Led due diligence efforts and valuation modeling for three acquisitions in a six month period. Streamlined the preparation of the company’s monthly financial indicator package for use both internally and at the board level.

Reorganized the department by adding a financial analyst and restructuring the previous analyst into a more appropriate business analyst role

Pricing analysis and approval for key clients leading to improvement of approximately $15M in annual revenue

Reported to the CFO. Brought in to develop the operating and capital budgets for the company. Prepared the policies and procedures around the budgeting process. Implemented ongoing monthly and rolling forecasting process. Led implementation of budgeting software, moving company from Excel based budgeting at the direction of the CEO. In addition to campus operations, there were also 5 restaurants and other retail establishments creating system-wide revenue of more than $300M.

Vice President – FP&A and Corporate Development (Jan 2011 to Aug 2014)

Reported to the CFO. Built and managed a team of three financial analysts responsible for directing the corporation’s annual budget and intermediate forecast process. Led due diligence efforts in merger and acquisition discussions as well as being the on-site integration manager for the acquisition of a new school brand. Worked closely with private equity partners to refine business models for refinancing of the business. Finance lead in assessment of new program offerings.
