North Canberra Urology - Practice Manager - November 2012 – August 2017

Inaugural Practice and Business Manager for North Canberra Urology - public and private surgical services, a multimillion dollar Specialist Surgical Practice.
The key purpose of the role was to manage the practice efficiently, including three Admin and two Clinical employees as well as two Medical Specialists.
Key responsibilities of the role included
Being an ambassador for the clinic in continuing to build the image, foundation, culture and supporting corporate core values
Providing overall supervision and leadership to the team (Administration, Reception and Clinical/Technical)
Recruitment of administration staff and induction of new employees
Checking and approving employee time-sheets and completing payroll weekly
Ongoing monitoring, training and performance management and reviewing of staff
Providing ongoing planning, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation of all aspects relating to the practice and implementing improvements/changes where necessary
Ensuring the delivery and standard of the organisations' processes and procedures are maintained at a high standard
In conjunction with the General Manager, monitor income/expenses and analyse and generate accurate statistical and financial reports; this role is responsible for regular and a variety of reporting requirements, comparing P&L statements etc.
Developing business plans, strategic plans and marketing initiatives in conjunction with the General Manager
Development and promotion of the business practice and services, i.e. your own ideas and those of the Medical Specialists
Co-ordinating internal auditing of procedures and updating relevant documentation
Nurturing and continuing to maintain and develop strong relationships with referring practitioners
