Project Controls Manager

Assigned as Lead Planner / Scheduler on Cameron LNG Project in Hackberry, LA.

Develop a Level 3 recovery schedule to enable accurate and reliable tracking, forecasting and L&M cash flow analysis for a $6.5 billion LNG green field EPC&C project already 30% into the engineering and procurement effort.

Hire and direct a staff of planner schedulers the MOPEX type E&P effort with personnel in the Houston Rogerdale office, Baton Rouge office, Manila office and on the job site.

Develop and resubmit a project specific Project Controls Execution Plan emphasizing the processes for re-aligning the EPC progress base and schedule with a newly developed “check estimate” for the entire scope of the project and ensure both system interfaced and provided the required backup for the project billing.

Conduct interactive planning sessions with discipline leads from all MOPEX location, Project Management, Procurement / Expediting and Construction management personnel taking owner ship in their respective scopes of work. Ensure the sessions stayed focused on the end result and that adequate Q&A was held during the session with all parties in attendance fully participated in the conversation.

Develop project planning scheduling procedures for a weekly level 3 E&P schedule update while simultaneously developing a fully integrated level 3 / 4 Construction and Commissioning schedule and still report a true and auditable critical path, 4 week look ahead, procurement philosophy and site mobilization plan update weekly.

Review weekly the project schedule and reported progress internally and with the client in live scheduling sessions while 15 schedulers worked with in the same schedules in order to make the weekly reporting cut off deadlines with minimal overtime charges incurred.

Implement unused functionality of the Primavera software (P6r8.2) such as Issues log, Team member module for lead discipline progress, web server development using portfolios and dashboards to provide executive the ability to review the project health, adherence, quality, progress etc. via the web.

Create a complete set of project schedule layout, filters, and custom reports to support the weekly reporting cycle and provide as much user ease as possible when reviewing the updated schedule and invoking mitigating plans during the updates and further development process.

Lead a weekly progress and schedule update meeting with the EPC department managers and ensure common goals where established to meet the next week’s scheduled deliverable and to meet contractual & billing milestones.

Run Acumen FUSE schedule analysis and risk scenarios on a biweekly basis and report finds to management and the client ensuring the complete transparency promised was upheld between the two with regard to risk forefronts.

Participate in the Change Management process to provide input to justifiable schedule impacts where they exist.

Primavera Consultant & Implementation Specialist

(System Configuration, Implementation, Training and onsite Support of a Primavera 6.2.1 to Maxamo interface tool and subsequent Primavera upgrade to P6r8 utilizing the same slightly modified interface tool)

Perform companywide discover assessment of the Exploration and Productions divisions current planning and scheduling practices.

Produce a user training curriculum, management level training curriculum and field supervision progress reporting curriculum and conduct the training sessions across all BP Upstream operations centers and job sites prior to the deployment at each.

Maintain a library of planning / scheduling job aids based on various Go-Live opportunities which arose during the geographical based phased deployment across North America.

Introduce new planning and scheduling standards and practices in support of the new WMS system prior to Go Live, the Activity Planning Functional teams, Area teams and site execution teams during the 2 week data migration and finally system Production Go-Live and conduct a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks floor walking post Go-Live at each operations center ensuring a smooth transition to the new WMS program was achieved.

Provide continuous onsite technical support to all North America Operations Centers throughout a yearlong phased deployment.

Upon successful deployment across North America lead the effort to migrate the newly deployed WMS scheduling tool of Primavera 6.2.1 through an upgrade to P6r8.2 and conduct all follow-up training on the upgraded changes that were initiated as a result of shifting from the purely client based version to the client / web based solution in P6r8.

Perform the duties of the Primavera database administrator for the Central Activity Planning Teams Global Functional Database (GFDB) using P6r8.

Continuously refine and further develop the GFDB work processes to enable better utilization of the scheduling toolset at the Central Functional level where schedules are developed and managed from the 8 Quarter level 1 through 6-8 week level 3 schedules as they are move through the required gate process and achieve gate keeper approvals and are transitioned from central functional schedules to the regional Activity Planning Teams at the regional operations centers for execution at the work order level using the WMS system and processes previously designed and deployed within the regions.
