Project Description

Dollar tree purchased family dollar for $8.5 billion plus acquisition of the $1 billion in debt currently held by Family Dollar. This project is to merge and integrate Family Dollar’s logistics systems including transportation management system (TMS), yard management systems (YMS), labour management system (LMS) and others to the Dollar Tree’s system built in AS400.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following key points will give insight to my role in the project: -

I was responsible to understand the entire business flow of the existing Dollar Tree’s logistic system as well as Family Dollar’s system in order to integrate it with that of Dollar Tree.

I was responsible to develop new programs and enhance the existing programs that encapsulate the data flow from Family Dollar and migrate to Dollar Tree’s database and system.

I had the responsibility of trouble shooting, debugging, testing all the core development programs for any issues or errors and finally deploy them in the production system of Dollar Tree.

I was responsible for the requirement analysis, designing and providing technical solution to for this integration project. I worked in depth with business team to understand the actual requirements and provided the technological solutions to accomplish those business needs.

This system actually works on the basis of the customer demands, current trends and demands of the products. Based upon this application Williams Sonoma runs all of their promotional activities, campaigns, discounts as well as the product enhancements. This is a key application for Williams Sonoma’s business growth which eventually results in their business growth in terms of revenue and profit.

The following key points will give insight to my role in the project: -

I was responsible to understand the entire business flow of the existing Marketing Application System which basically handles all the customer information and transaction information.

I am the lead of this application in order to support and enhance the system to run and take a good shape.

I had the responsibility of trouble shooting all the production issues which actually caused the system crash scenarios.

I was assigned with the responsibility of taking care of all the ad-hoc business requests, job crashes, bug fixes, enhancements so that in total the system will become robust and more functional.

Project Description

Earlier Staples used handheld RF Gun MC55 device to scan goods at the store to retrieve different types of information related to sku like P.O. receive, cycle count, transfer sku information etc. which is based on AS400 screens. Now instead of using old MC55 device they have planned to convert the entire system into IOS mobile application which actually uses micro-services as the front end that invokes the backend built on AS400 to perform all the operations. Here all the AS400 screens were converted into java micro-services which invoke the AS400 API programs at the backend that actually performs all the required operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following key points will give insight to my role in the project: -

I was responsible to understand the entire business flow of the existing RF Gun application which basically handles all the Store related operations for the Staples, Inc.

I have to analyse and identify components which actually need to be changed.

I was responsible for the entire design of this application from AS400 perspective.

I have converted all the existing backend programs into AS400 API based programs which take the inputs from the front end micro services and performs the operations at the backend based upon the existing business logic and returns all the information to the front end.

My responsibility is to make sure that due to this change there should not be any impact in the business flow and even if so then provide alternative solution approach so that system will work fine.

I have to integrate the AS400 API programs with the micro-services and confirm that everything will run as expected.

I have an integral role in the testing phase of this entire IOS application conversion process including unit testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing.

As per 2014 the sale reached $29.1 billion which is more than 6% compared to the prior year.

Project Description

TJX uses the application SCAN (System Controlled Automated Network) for their entire DC operation which is built in IBM AS400 system. To enhance their business ability in Europe, TJX took the GMI filed expansion project in order to expand several fields in the system i.e. price, store etc. to incorporate their new architecture of business. We have to analyse the entire SCAN system to identify components where the change is needed and make sure the entire application process will not suffer any kind of functional error after the implementation.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following key points will give insight to my role in the project: -

I was responsible to understand the entire business flow of the SCAN application which basically handles all the DC related operations for the TJX.

I have to analyse and identify components which actually need to be changed due to this expansion of several different fields and make the necessary code changes and testing.

My responsibility is to make sure that due to this change there should not be any impact in the business flow and even if so then provide alternative solution approach so that system will work fine.

I have been entitled to make the necessary changes in the production database to incorporate the expanded fields.

I have to integrate the change with other applications of different technology and confirm that everything will run as expected.

PKMS is the pick ticket management system which deals with the entire backend order processing in the supply chain area of Staples Inc. The application is built in completely IBM AS-400 system. PKMS deals entire processing of the orders and sending the information to the front-end system based upon which next level of shipment and fulfillment will be done.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following key points will give insight to my role in the project:

I was responsible to understand the entire business flow of the application which basically handles all the order processing system in the supply chain back end.

My responsibility was to give the peak-season support for 24x7 time span which includes active monitoring jobs, fixing priority incidents, communicating to the clients and to make sure that application must be stable during this period for high volume of data.

I was the support person whose job was to handle all client queries, generation of reports for clients along with the maintenance of the production database and fixing of the incorrect data.

I was authorized to handle all client calls, job monitoring events and handling the issues if the system went down.

Enterprise Payment Services is the project which deals with the entire finance and payment system of the Staples Inc. which are built in IBM AS-400 system. It is both the enhancement and support project which includes enhance, maintain and support the entire application and handle all user related incidents and queries, bug fixes/modification of programs to stabilize the application along with 24X7 production support

My role was to create new programs which enhance the system durability as well as to fix bugs in the existing system to optimize the application.

My responsibility was to maintain production database and fix incorrect data.
