Personal Statement:
I have taught for over thirty years, and this has covered a wide spectrum of
positions, from the classroom to head teacher. I am motivated, diligent and work
well individually, or as part of a team. My key strength is the ability to successfully
adapt my teaching to the changing needs of the pupils, in a variety of
environments.

Head of P.E and Teacher of Geography (Key Stage Two and Three)
The school relocated in 1981 and I successfully structured and led the development
of the games / physical education. I also taught geography to C.E level. I was in
charge of 1st Xl cricket and soccer teams
I left to gain my probationary year in the state educational system.
Towers Comprehensive School, Ashford, Kent. 1984 (Sept) – 1986 (Aug)
Teacher of P.E and Mathematics (Key Stage Three – A level)
I taught the complete age range, including sixth form physical education and
mathematics at Key Stage Three level. I also ran numerous sporting teams and
clubs.
I left for promotion as Head of P.E in another school.
Eden Valley Comprehensive School, Edenbridge, Kent. 1986 (Sept) – 1988
(Aug)
Head of P.E and Teacher of Geography (Key Stage Three – G.C.S.E level)
I was asked to restructure the P.E curriculum and teach geography to G.C.S.E
level. I also ran a variety of teams and clubs. This was both successful and
enjoyable; as a result, I was offered another role as Head of P.E in a larger School.
Bromfords Comprehensive School, Essex. 1988 (Sept) - 1990 (Aug)
Head of P.E (Key Stage Three – G.C.S.E level.)
I set up the school’s first G.C.S.E in Physical Education course and this proved to
be very popular amongst the pupils. In addition, I led the department through much
change and ran many teams and clubs.
I left to return to the private system, for promotional reasons.
Chafyn Grove Preparatory School, Salisbury, Wiltshire. 1990 (Sept) –
1997(Dec)
Director of Sport and Teacher of Geography /Mathematics (Key Stage Two
and Three)
I was responsible for structuring and organizing the sport throughout the school. In
addition, I taught mathematics and geography to C.E level. I coached 1st XV rugby,
U.11 cricket and hockey teams. I was responsible for organizing a variety of school
events, such as parents’ evenings and responsibility for front of house at school
productions. Left to take up a teaching and rugby coaching position in New
Zealand.

Middle Syndicate Leader and Classroom/Sports Teacher. ( 9 -14 yr old)
I had pastoral and organizational responsibility for the 9 – 11 year old section of
the school. I taught English, history, mathematics and sport across the 9 – 13 age
range. I was in charge of U.13 cricket and rugby teams and in addition coached at
representative and club levels.
I left to take up a position as head teacher in UK.
Querns Westonbirt Preparatory School,(formally Quern’s School), Tetbury,
Gloucestershire. 2000 (Jan) - 2005 (July)
Head teacher and Teacher of Mathematics. (Key Stage One and Two)
I restructured and updated many school policies in preparation for an imminent
OFSTED inspection. I was responsible for the successful relocation of Quern’s
School, from Cirencester to Tetbury, Gloucestershire and overseeing the
development of the new school. I also taught mathematics and games at Key Stage
Two.
I left to accept a teaching and rugby coaching position in New Zealand.
St.Kentigern’s School, Auckland, New Zealand. 2005 (July) – 2007 (May)
Classroom/ Sports Teacher (10 – 13 year old)
I taught a Year 5 class English, geography, history and sport. I coached sport
across the school, being in charge of U.11 team. I also coached cricket and rugby
at club level .I left to relocate my family back in UK
Teaching Personnel Educational Supply Agency. 2007 (May) - 2007 (Dec)
I taught in a wide range of schools from Bristol to Portsmouth, covering Key Stage
Two to A level. This included a full time maternity cover for six weeks in a Year
Five class at Brinksome Primary School, Poole, Dorset. I successfully adapted my
teaching for the variety of environments.
I left the agency to accept a full time post at Clayesmore Preparatory School.

Teacher of Mathematics, Geography and Games.
In September 2008, I was appointed temporary Assistant Head for a year. I taught
a full academic timetable including. mathematics to C.E / scholarship level and
geography Key Stage Two to C.E level. In addition I have taught the major sports,
having mainly been in charge of U.11 team.

Other Interests:
Acting, public speaking, theatre, reading and coaching a wide range of sports.
