Project Area : Manufacturing Technology

Project Title : Effect of rake angle and cutting speed on cutting force, tool life and tool vibration of AISI 1020 steel on CNC turning by using single point cutting tool.

Software used: Dynoware, SKF Analyser, MINITAB 17 statistical software package.

Description : In metal cutting operation, features of tools, work materials, machine parameter settings will influence the process efficiency and output quality characteristics. In that project, the effect of the input parameter such as rake angle and cutting speed are varying with constant values of feed rate and depth of cut on responses such as cutting force, tool life and tool vibration is investigated. During experimentation, AISI 1020 steel is turned by high speed steel (M2 grade) with the single point cutting tool. While performing experiments the cutting force components, tool wear and tool vibrations are measured with the help of piezoelectric dynamometer, weighing machine and tri-accelerometer.

Project Area : Manufacturing Technology.

Project Title : Acoustic Analysis of Muffler.

Project Role : Done the analysis and helped in fabrication.

Software used : Pro-E, COMSOLE Multiphysics.

Description : Muffler is the major factor influencing the noise of engine exhaust system. This project postulates that reduction of noise possible by using expansion chamber & muffler. Simulation of Expansion Chamber & Muffler is done by using Pro-E & COMSOL Multiphysics .This project also emphasis on how modern Pro-E tool used for modelling purpose & COMSOL Multiphysics for analysis purpose. In that project, we choose HONDA CB Shine two wheeler to reduce noise by using Expansion chamber. Due to that system, we reduce noise as well as increasing efficiency.
