KSU Dairy Processing Lab Assistant October 2013-May 2014

Assisted a Dairy Science graduate student by cleaning glassware, monitoring temperatures, times, and pH levels of liquid acid whey byproduct from Greek yogurt, separating out solids from liquids by use of a separatory funnel, and using a pumping system treatment to separate out cations from solution.

KSU Biosafety Level 2 Food Safety Microbiology Lab Assistant May 2013 –May 2014

Tested samples of Salmonella spp., Echerichia coli 0157:H7, and Listeria monocytogenes by exposing them to a solution of water and “Fit” detergent soap to try and reduce the D-values of microbial growth.

Production Supervisor – Thermo Fisher Scientific May 2015-August2016

Oversight of 18 talented individuals producing specialty dehydrated culture media (DCM), that is further processed at another production facility next door, and plated and packaged to be shipped out to hospitals, food laboratories, clinics, and many others globally. ~25-30% of all DCM product is direct-sell to external customers.

-Used tier board metrics to reduce back orders from $50,000 to an average of $5,000 on a consistent basis. This was done in about 3-4 months.

-Redesigned the warehouse through a 3P event to accommodate space for a plant in Louisiana that closed. This cut down our warehouse space by about half or a little less than half of our storage space.
