Profesional Experience

Nov 2016..present, Texas Tech, certified medical assistant . I assist with intakes vitals and sending xrays orders if needed for the day for each patient. Assist doctors with joint injections from shoulders and knees, I prep everything set up the time out, amount of steroid they will use, if doctors need help with vials and gloves i do so. I have patient ready also by taking of splints, dressings, braces, and cam boots for new appointments for xrays or doctor follow up to see patient. I put on soft dressings, regulars dressing on ankles, feet, wrist or anything they need. Fax out orders to PT, OT, MRI, answer questions and phonecalls for patients for next appt or at present appt.

June2016-October2016, Centro San Vicinte, I assisted psychiatrist on clinic days twice a week and the other days i would schedule patients, check on future appointments for our clinic and other doctor visits. Occasionally I would change my providers schedule for meeting, Holidays or vacation. I was in charge of all computer data and patient scheduling. Clinic days consisted of patients vitals, weights, medication updates with patients like refills or filled, continuing of self care, hyigene and living arrangements and diets. Patients were scheduled monthly and kept record of all nececeties with caseworkers, social workers and other departments of homeless activities for each week. Provider would request lab work and therapy appointments referals, I would send emails or letters for future dates. Phone calls were made to clients to remind them of next appointment for the provider and case workers weekly, scheduling and rescheduling or cancelling were done at present time of calls.

January 2016-June2016, I have been applying to jobs in the El paso area and Austin, Tx.

September 2015- January 2016, During the time of taking care of my grandparents, I was studying for my CMA exam. I passed on January 26, 2016 and starded to apply for jobs in El Paso including Austin Tx. I am now National Certified and capable of working in any clinic.

October 2013-November 2015, I took care of my Grandfather as a CNA home personal care. Assisted him with bathing, feeding, dressing and occasional doctor visits. Medication intake keeping up with daily activites around the house and helping my grandmother with nutrition foods for his diet. Exercising and range of motion for his arms and legs, also tooks daily walks, kept a log of all activities for his therapist and Provider to keep track for future appointments.

Taking care of patients under the direct care of RN and Doctors, patient care consist of bathing, feeding hours and occasional dressing if needed. Assisting with ambulating and range of motion as well. Check vitals every 4 hours and entered in the computer as for doctors orders.

October 2006 to September 2009, El Paso MHMR Medical Tech El Paso, TX I worked for El paso MHMR as medical technician assisting doctors needs in patient teaching in medicine intake and care knowledge. Occasional calling in meds to Pharmacies and checking in on other doctor appointments.
