BRUCE AEROSPACE – Dayton, NV 2013-2014

Operations Manager

Successfully directed a team of employees to substantially improve quality, cost, on-time deliveries, safety, morale, and efficiencies by introducing operation metrics, 5s, and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma principles. The Lean Manufacturing efforts improved throughput by 50%, and improved on time deliveries from 82% to 99%.

Successfully managed a team of professionals that identified and eliminated bottlenecks that were responsible for high inventory levels and poor on time deliveries. Director of Manufacturing (2007-2009)

Directed and motivated a Lean Manufacturing team of seven production managers, twenty line production supervisors, and over 400 hourly production and support employees. Prepared monthly P&L reports. Successfully managed a Kaizen project to implement factory wide 5S that substantially improved throughput by 40% and lowered inventory by 85%. Additionally, participated on an SAP implementation team that effectively switched the entire company to SAP in just six months.

Machine Shop Manager (2004-2007)

Successfully directed the operations of up to nine cost centers, e.g. turning, milling, and grinding with approximately 150 direct reports. Successfully managed a project to implement quick changeover robotic systems that are utilized for unmanned loading and unloading CNC mills and lathes. The implemented quick changeover robot systems substantially lowered cycle time, and produced a 7.2 machine hours for every man hour.

Production Manager (2000-2004)

Formulated master schedule, assembly forecast, production plan, and value stream measurements, for the complete supply chain for up to five CNC machining center production lines and approximately 100 employees. Additionally, created weekly P&L reports. Successfully implemented processes for culturally hiring, training, and mentoring. Successfully reduced inventories by 30% by implement a Kanban system of sub-assemblies for the support of all product value streams.

Successfully put together a strategy for identifying and eliminating bottlenecks by implementing Lean Manufacturing processes.
