Peptide Specificity for PDZ Domain Jan 2016 – Present

• Develop a better understanding of the PDZ domain from various families and their binding specificities

• Build a general model for PDZ domain and its naturally found bound peptide using the knob-socket model

• Based on the knob- socket model and data, peptides were designed to have better binding propensities for each family of PDZ domains

Novel Protein Design Dec 2015 – Present

• Collect data about alpha- helical binding interactions at a tertiary and quaternary level and map them out using knob-socket model and modified lattice

• De novo design of globular protein having five helices all linked together- Binding interactions between helices come together to form a star shape

Recombinant Protein Expression Jan 2013 – Present

• Use and develop molecular biology skills to maintain an expression system as well as the biochemical skills to express and purify the protein product

• Preserve a bacterial expression system, grow and induce the protein product, column purification of the protein product, and assay of folded pattern using SDS-PAGE gels and circular dichroism PRESENTED WORK
