Dear Recruiting Professional:
I am very much interested in your position. As I live in the Tucson area, your location is ideal. My years of experience in organizations large and small offers skills not often found in the Tucson area.
I have experience with Otis Elevator in Nogales, Sonora and recognize you have a plant there. I have been involved with stockrooms and warehousing for over 25 years.
At Otis, while in Bloomington, Indiana, I was responsible for the master scheduling of all our customer orders with our factories and our supply chain, both national and international. I had the material consolidated in our 4 distribution centers and shipped elevators to job sites, servicing over 100 field offices in the US and Canada. My background is a good fit for your job requirements.
For the past 3 plus years I have been the planning manager for Sargent Aerospace and Defense in Marana, and have successfully transitioned to the special demands of the Aerospace Industry. My position was eliminated in August 2017 in favor of a distributed organization where individual planners report to the value stream managers.
I would welcome the chance to be a strong individual contributor.
Previously I was the Materials Manager for three Otis factories in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, Otis has moved these facilities to South Carolina. For personal and family reasons I prefer to stay in Arizona. I had been offered a complete relocation package, an increase and a bonus to go there.
I was one of a small staff in charge of decommissioning and closing the warehouses and facilities. I have spent a good portion of the last two years setting up the ERP system for the new Otis facility. I am very familiar with ERP installs and setting up master scheduling and planning BOMs. I converted the component based planning BOMs we used in Nogales to assembly based planning BOMs in the new system. I designed reports to allow for easy monitoring of the amounts for each item on the planning BOMs. The reports look at history, current firm orders and future orders to help adjust for mix and volume. We are also able to not only purchase to these planning BOMs within the lead-time of each item, but use them as a non-binding forecasting tool for suppliers also. I have always had good rapport with my customers and use those relationships to gather intelligence on future demand and product model swings. Customers reluctant to give a forecast in numbers or in writing are often willing to share information in a conversation that can be useful in the master scheduling function.
I look forward to hearing from you very soon. An in person or phone interview would be well worth your time.
Sincerely
Phil Zielinski
