Value Village, Milwaukie, Oregon

Store Manager January 2004 - October 2005

I worked for Value Village for 20 plus years a good majority of my years I spent with the company, but then was informed they wanted to shrink the company, so I made a tough decision and decided to move on and open my own business. This would be a whole new type of responsibility for me. While at Value Village, I had to do action plans, plans of actions, work with production crews, operations crews, cashiers, loss prevention, many different charities, and most of all the customers who were my favorite, because I was able to see how much I affected them. I love helping people grow and setting goals for myself and others to achieve.

Value Village, Portland, Oregon

District Manager November 1983 - January 2004

I was the District Manager for 14 districts and had 24 stores. I had to make many trips to all of my stores to make sure things were always in top shape. I was #1 in my District and helped lots of people grow. I worked side by side with a few of the local charities to help the community. We always had big events to bring in the customers and I loved the grand opening events, I always made sure to be at each one. I was in charge of 30-40 employees at a time per store and it always made me happy to do my job and see the outcome. I worked for Value Village for 20 plus years a good majority of my years at Value Village I spent as a District Manager until the company then had a change in management and they decided they wanted a new face for the company meaning me as well. I had to step down and become a manager of one store, which was a big change.
