Interim Director of Human Resources Yosemite Hospitality (Aramark) 01/2017 – present

As the Senior Human Resources Manager for over 1,000 full-time and 700 seasonal employees requires solid business acumen to assertively partner with the management team regarding HR, Staffing, ER/LR, policies/procedures, compliance and general management topics. Responsible for providing and maintaining extraordinary levels of service through a high level of influence, execution and prioritizing of duties. As the head human resources manager on-site responsible that all employees are being treated fairly and correctly under the federal and state guidelines that have been set and that all employees have been trained properly according to corporate, state and federal guideline.

This position is responsible for developing, leading and executing in the following areas:

•Leads positive employee relations efforts within all facilities.

•Leads Performance Review and succession strategy.

•Conducts wage and employment surveys within area labor market to monitor competitive wage rates and hiring trends.

•Actively engages in objective setting at facility level.

•Leads resolution of employee relations' issues and conducts investigations as necessary.

•Actively participates in safety and environmental projects as required.

•Participate in Job Fairs and campus recruiting. (Including culinary schools in the area).

•Coordinate all recruiting activities related to staffing of Concession employees and NPO's for events.

•Oversee recruitment of Non-Profit Organizations to work throughout the district.

•Performance Manage and develop direct reports.

•Initiate and process progressive disciplinary actions for all departments.

•Direct contact for employment agencies: staffing requirements, billing procedure.

•Conduct/facilitate and assist with training of hourly employees: New Hire Orientation, TEAM, HACCP, ServSafe, FOCUS, and On the Job Training.

•Attend building safety meetings and Aramark safety meetings; help develop incentives for reduction of accidents.

•Develop Hourly and NPO incentive and recognition programs to help decrease turnover.

•Meet weekly with Human Resource Managers to review updates for the H.R. Department.

•Meet with the General Managers to discuss HR issues at the locations..

•Track training and hourly paperwork; maintain current employee files for audit purposes.

Human Resources Management Consultant, Charlottesville, Virginia 04/2016 – 12/31/2016

Provide tactical and strategic human resources work products for a high-tech software development company, an intelligence, government contractor, and an eCommerce employer. Projects include converting HRIS SilkRoad and Jobvite to ADP Workforce Management, filing EEO 1 reports, rewriting performance management, harassment, short-term disability, and time off policies and procedures, investigating and filing Worker’s Compensation claims, responding to unemployment claims, and talent identification. Employers range in size from 300 employees to 270,000 employees. Accountable for all benefit and compensation plans, performance review process, recruiting, and projects as assigned.

Vice President, Human Resources AirDye Solutions, LLC – Harrisonburg, Virginia 02/2014 – 03/2016

Midsize multi-site color management, pioneering technology and textile manufacture with 186 employees operating globally. This was an asset purchase reorganized under Chapter 11.

Accountable to develop the human resource strategy, communications, and implementation processes for all human resources programs including executive talent identification, succession planning, and working with outside legal counsel to reinstate benefit programs. I was responsible for Environmental Health & Safety, Workers’ Compensation, and employee relations. Successfully designed and conducted employee survey, roundtable sessions, interviewed entire employee population (186 employees), and worked closely with all employees during the start-up and turnaround of this operation. I was appointed the interim head of operations and information technology (IT).

Accomplishments: ● Negotiated outstanding *$500, 000 unpaid medical premiums with a health insurance carrier down to four $25,000 installment payments and reinstatement of benefit plans. ● Negotiated the settlement of a $150,000 fine and cleanup of hazardous waste with the EPA; *$54, 000 settlement arranged. ● Sourced Vice president of Operations, DBA, Network Engineer, Quality Engineer, and HR assistant. ● Created employee quality bonus incentive program to reduce errors. Implemented daily production, quality, and customer feedback communications shown throughout the facility on television monitors. ● Responsible for the due diligence process in the merger and acquisition of Cheran Digital Systems human resources and safety areas. ● Introduced Lean Six Sigma processes and training: customer first, flexibility, focus, velocity, and complexity; trained fellow employees on DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improved, Control).

The facility closed and moved operations offshore. A small technical operation relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. Remained on board until March 30, 2016 to close the facility.

Director of Human Resources, Dayton Parts, LLC, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 10/2013 – 02/2014

A mid-size manufacture and distribution organization with 580 employees with operations in the United States and Canada.

Accountable for all human resources functions including health and safety. Worked with executive leadership, management, supervisors, and employees on hiring plans, annual performance reviews, succession strategy, First Aid training, annual holiday party, onboarding, and safety training.

Accomplishments: ● Successfully merged two benefit plans upon the acquisition of one US based entity and a Canadian entity. ● Loaded benefit information into ADP to automate annual open enrollment employee self-serve. ● Sourced and on-boarded all hourly and salary personnel. ● Hired and sourced 30 new employees. ● Worked with the company’s Workers’ Compensation carrier to resolve and settle two outstanding claims. ● Responsible for the due diligence process for human resource areas.

Corporate HR and Benefits Manager Morgan Corporation, Morgantown, Pennsylvania 01/2008 – 09/2013

A large manufacture with 16 plants and 7 service centers in the United States and 1 plant and service center in Canada.

Accountable for all benefit plans for 2,300 employees and human resources support and services for 220 corporate employees. Managed over $10 million in health care benefits and $300 million in 401k funds.

Accomplishments: ● Analysis of all benefit plans resulted in recouping *$500, 000 in premiums from employees that were not terminated from active status. ● Researched, designed, and implemented Wellness programs throughout all facilities in the United States and Canada. ● Reduced catastrophic claims over a three-year period as a direct result in early prevention of diabetes, cancer, and heart conditions. *Estimated $3 million in savings. ● Designed and implemented automated benefits files to increase efficiency. ● Implementing ADP’s Workforce benefits module. ● Assigned as Interim Plant Human Resources Manager in Morgantown, Pennsylvania (1000 employees), Canada (220 employees, and Ephrata, Pennsylvania (160 employees). Responsible for all customer service, call center, funding arrangements, bank relationships, pre and post-sales support, contracts, third-party partnership arrangements, investigations, plan documents, 5500 filings, plan design, open enrollments, employer web page hosting, COBRA, FSA, HSA, HRA, and Transit administration, medical, dental, vision, Workers’ Compensation, and STD claims processing, adjudication, and payments.

Accomplished: ● Reduced operational cost of $100,000 a month to *$35, 000 a month. Identified, relocated, and built-out a new customer support service operation in less than 60-days. *$15, 000 a month in savings. ● Hired and trained a new workforce in under 60-days. *$15, 000 a month in savings. ● Researched and implemented new claims system in less than 45-days and saved over $5,000 a month in software vendor fees. We lost one client in relocating the office from NYC to Waynesboro, PA. Grew the business from $5,000,000 to $19,600,000; EBIT was 27%. Worked with clients to design employee benefit plans, wellness plans, and consult on employee issues, e.g. investigates discrimination allegations, coaching executives on communication strategy, conducting employee surveys and analysis data, and writing AAP plans, and filing 5500 forms.

Accountable for the turnaround of these United States third-party expatriate employee benefit administrative service operation. Contacted and worked with benefit brokers and consultants. Allianz corporate made the decision to vacate the United States market for this business segment.

President - Chief Operations Officers Eastcore, Inc., Alexandria, VA, Hancock, MD, Atlanta, GA 02/1996 – 02/2002

Human resources, operations, third-party administration services, and benefit support services firm.

Took over this business and turned around the operator to position for sale. Promoted to President in 1998. Accountable for all human resources, claims administration, call center, and support service operations. I worked directly with client executives, human resources professionals, and employees. On a consultative basis, we provided human resources and recruitment services to over 300 employers. Grew the business from $1,500,000 to *$15, 000,000 and we sold the company to National Benefit Managers. I was accountable for the management over $300,000,000 in benefit programs for over 250,000 international employees. Clients included government, restaurant, retail, construction, unions, manufacturing, consulting, and government contractors. We sold the company.

Vice President, Human Resources The Orkand Corporations, Silver Spring, Maryland 10/1992 – 02/1996

A Multi-state software applications development government contractor with over 5,000 employees and 1,000 union employees.

Accountable for all human resources functions and built a department that was highly respected internally and externally. This was accomplished based on a service, knowledge, and the development of systems, learning programs, and talent identification to exceed expectations of the customer, executive, and employee levels. In addition, from 1994-1996 I was assigned full-time responsibility upon the client’s request to take over as the Program Manager for an $80,000,000 software development project and 220 employees (SCA). I met the client based on conducting an investigation pertaining to allegations made against the incumbent management. Based on the investigation and working closely with the client, we formulated a plan to address the issues. Within 8-months, the contract was back on task and we completed all assignments on time and under budget. We submitted a proposal for the new contract award and based on performance, we won the new contract award for 5 years valued at over $100,000,000.

Recruited by the Eastcore’s Board to fill the COO position.

1982 thru 1996 worked in high-technology as technical recruiter, employment manager, director of human resources & administration, and vice president for government contractor employers.
