Production Quality Engineer

Alfin Industries January 2014 - December 2014

Developed Process Flows, Control Plans and PFMEA.

Analyzing and interpret the CMM lab results to find the relevant factors affecting the Product Quality.

Hands on experience on quality tools to determine the Process capability (Cp, CpK) for new products (SPC).

Worked with cross functional teams and experience on AIAG core tools to launch new products as a part of APQP & PPAP Process.

Performing cost optimization and streamlining the processing parameters to maintain the product quality and cost.

Developed and documented corrective action reports (CAR) and carried out 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Cause and Effect Diagram to identify and disposition of NCM’s.

Hands on experience in 5-WHY analysis and Mistake Proofing (poka-yoke) to eliminate further reoccurrence of the defect.

Performing Gage R&R, 5S activities, Quality Audits & Safety Audits and familiar with the GD&T.

Developed Kaizen work stations using lean manufacturing principles such as 5s, ergonomics and layout design.

Developed Standard Operating Procedures (Operation Standards)/Standard Work Instructions (SWI)(WI)(JES).

Embedded Software Engineer June 2011 – December 2013 Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions

Responsibilities include requirement analysis, documentation, developing the code and test cases based on the requirements and testing the code with the test cases.

Providing package integrations and validation testing for various customer as per their requirements.

Making test specifications for the given requirements with tools like Time Partition Testing (TPT), Test Automation Tool (TAXI) and testing with INCA/CANalyser.

Validating injection system specific functionalities like Diagnostics testing for DGDI-S injectors, Zero Fuel Correction (ZFC), OBD II evaluation, in the LABCAR, for several customers.

Interpreting DOORs requirement and creating the test specifications for the requirements.

Research Assistant – Process Evaluation July 2015 – April 2017

Foundry Lab, Western Michigan University

Performing Design of Experiments (DOE) for various tests to find sample sizes, Gage R&R analysis to determine the reliability of the results of the experiment.

Performing various process evaluation tests like loss on ignition, permeability, clay content, compactability and grain fineness testing on green sands.

Well-versed in determining the wet tensile strength, splitting strength, green compression strength, mold hardness, of the green sand systems.

Determining the time until crack propagation in core/mold at different binder levels of chemically bonded sand systems, minimizing the rework cost in any foundry using Thermal Distortion Testing.

Performing data analysis with the obtained test results to ensure/ improve the casting quality.

Working experience with the new AFS standard test procedures: Hot Permeability, Abrasion, Retained Strength, TDT.

PROJECTS

Analysis of Offshore Manufacturing Cost and Process Improvement Fall 2016

Performed Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, and Cost Analysis.

Considering the Quick Response and Lean Manufacturing philosophies to identify the cost inquired by non-value added activities and possible lead time reduction.

Utilized Cause and Effect diagram (Fishbone) to narrow down the causes of reduced profit margins.

Proposed current and future Production Flow Chart for the required run rate.

Muscle strain Analysis of mop with a side handle Fall 2016

RUD stress analysis on the upper limb (musculoskeletal disorder) when using a mop with a new ergonomic side handle that meets the OSHA regulations.

Using ANOVA, it was determined that the stress levels in the shoulder muscles and wrist are reduced by 50% when using the new modified mop.

Subjective analysis was performed using BORG scale.

Prediction of rejection and optimal green sand properties Spring 2016

The rejection data and the sand properties were used and the corresponding regression equation was obtained.

Modeling, analyzing and interpreting of the data helped a foundry to move from a reactive to a forward-looking system for green sand control.
