The Project that I have worked in Zimmer is one of the biggest remediation projects in Zimmer. I was appointed as one of the Manufacturing engineer for the costliest and most important process of the project i.e Porous Plasma Spray.
Primary responsibilities include:
Did Gauge R&R experiments to find out the repeatability and reproducibility of the device.
Wrote Work Instructions for the most important process of the Plasma Spray department and got it approved to the future use.
Find out many problems with the machine and have fixed then as needed to improve the process.
Trained operators on the new work instructions.
Improvised the working of the machine by rectifying their problems.
Tried to design a fixture for the calibration of parts that are produced in the Porous Plasma Spray.
Did collected a very huge data called as “Big Bertha,” which give complete information of the part from its first step to the finish stage.
“Big Bertha” also explains about all the stages that the part has gone through and also, about the dimensions, workstations and every other information in a single line including the tolerances of the part.
