Owner’s Engineer (Instrumentation and Control)
Job Description- Consultant to the owner (Pagbilao Energy Corporation) mainly for engineering, construction and commissioning activities applied for instrumentation and control discipline. Drawings and technical documents are reviewed and approved prior to the execution of the consortium (Daelim and Mitsubishi) during erection stage. Contractually, we provide guidance to the consortium in managing the work schedule without neglecting the safety and quality requirements. All the site inspections and testing are witnessed to ensure good engineering practice, operability and maintainability. Signing and approval of every activity has been a vital decision, as an OE, because we need to guide the consortium in accordance to the quality engineering practices while strictly implementing safety standard procedures in all areas of activities. Good coordination with the consortium, sub-contractors, operation and maintenance team, and engineering has been very much important to ensure proper flow of information and to help the team in building future plans. An everyday work is about creating solutions, individually or as a team, to provide a more sustainable project output.

Commissioning Engineer/ DCS Operator
Job Description- Commissioning engineer participated in functional loop testing to satisfy correct installation and connection of the field instruments to the controllers, also, reviewing/ revising of logic circuits, alarm set point values and DCS graphic faceplate to ensure that all control loops will operate based on P&ID. DCS operation, using Yokogawa Centum VP CS3000, was part of the job performed during boiler refractory curing, electrical and auxiliary systems testing, plant cold/warm/hot start-up, synchronization and full load reliability testing.
As a control commissioning operator, process parameters were supervised continuously and emergency situations were handled confidently to ensure stable condition of plant operation. Have also coordinated with the field operators to establish awareness of the plant condition and maintained daily logs for future reference of owner’s engineers/ operators. More importantly, have implemented safety standard operating procedures in DCS operations and ensured equipment lock out tag out instructions during downtime and repair of each equipment.

Instrumentation and Control Engineer (II)
Job description- Reviewed technical documents and drawing plans. These documents includes P&ID, flow diagrams, instrument loop diagram, and DCS logic circuits.
Supervised a limited skilled and non-skilled manpower in completing I&C construction works and managing allocated resources and work schedules to meet target output on time. Such activities include cable pulling, conduit and cable tray installation, airline and impulse tubing, wiring termination, and continuity checks. Have supervised installation, calibration, configuration and loop testing of instruments such as Pressure (Emerson Rosemount pressure and DPT), Analyzers (+GF+ and HACH pH, ORP and conductivity), Flow (Electromagnetic and flow sensors like orifice plate and nozzle), Level (magnetic flap, radar, ultrasonic and float switches), as well as motorized valves, safety valves and VFDs.
Have revised and produced QA/QC documents applicable for power plant construction that focuses on process instrumentation discipline to ensure safety and quality of every implemented work. Such paper includes Method Statements, Inspection and Test plan check sheets and Job Hazards Assessment forms. I&C Commissioning Engineer
Job description- Have conducted factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests which are vital for distributed control system architecture established in a CFBC power plant. This control system includes stand-alone control systems such as PLC and IEPC that support the operation of other subsystems. Performed functional loop and interlock testing to satisfy correct field to control connection and to ensure that all safety interlocks are working. Participated in the boiler operation and plant process supervision using GE Nexus OC6000e platform. Accomplished troubleshooting on instrumentation and misconfiguration of PLC dedicated for Emergency Turbine Trip System (ETS) that had solved few plant trip incident in the said project.
