Qualifications
As a licensed Master since 1984, a former Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard and Maritime Law Enforcement Of- ficer and Marine Surveyor, I have amassed a great deal of broad maritime experience as a multi-dimensional maritime professional. I have extensive experience and training in the safe navigation and operation, repair, and construction of a variety of vessel types. These include DP OSV’s, seismic research vessels, aerostat support vessels, small container and RO/RO vessels from 165’ to 285’ in length. I have served as a Master both on domestic and international voyages and under U.S. Government charter. I have accumulated over 15 years’ experience as a Master of DP-1 equipped vessels. I have also been employed ashore in the capacity of Port Captain/Project Manager for new vessel construction, conversion, and repair. I have owned and operated a marine surveying and consulting firm, and have held the status of Accredited Marine Surveyor with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors, as well as held membership in the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers and the American Boat and Yacht Council for over 12 years.
