Internship - TRW Automotive in Reynosa, Tamaulipas México March 2006 – May 2006

Involved in two projects with the company of TRW. The first project consisted of the understanding of “Takt time”. I was assigned to calculate the Takt time of every day of every week of that month of injection molding machines. Takt time is used at TRW to keep production on schedule and permits flexible response to change in sales. The other project consisted of the understanding of “Poke Yoke”, meaning error proof and how to avoid errors. I was given a defective command switch for the side view mirrors for an automobile. The issue in this case was that the right button to maneuver the right side view mirror had an upside down “L” instead of an “R”. I was assigned to make proposals on how to correct this problem.
