Passionate CAD/CFD Mechanical Engineering Graduate from Arizona State University with balanced blend of technical and management skills. Have 3 years of professional experience in design & manufacturing sector. Able to generate, interpret & provide rational explanation for simulations. Team spirited with problem solving & time management skills. Able to provide innovative solutions to engg. problems. Proficient at:

• Linear / Non-Linear FEA in ANSYS • Multiphase/single-phase CFD • 2D/3D Modeling/CAD/Surfacing, Assemblies

• Static / Dynamic / Thermal FEA Analysis • Manufacturing • GD&T in SolidWorks, Nx, AutoDesk

Education:

• Masters of Science, Mechanical Engineering Arizona State University, Tempe GPA: 3.96/4.0 May 2017

• Bachelors of Technology, Mechanical Engineering VNIT, Nagpur, India GPA: 7.43/10.0 May 2012

Professional Experience:

Azloop, Arizona’s Hyperloop team Modeling & Design Engr. Aug 2016 – June 2017

• Conceptualized the structure of the Pod and designed an integrated component assembly of the braking, levitation and lateral stability subsystems. Over 30 sub system components were designed and rendered using SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion360.

• Carried out FEA and CFD and optimized the design iterations based on parameters like, pod velocity, length using Ansys.

• Finite element & Fluid structure analysis to design chassis, pusher adapter brackets, air exhaust nozzle, etc. for strength, weight and consideration that propulsion tanks, levitation module, hoses, braking system could be installed properly.

• Prototype testing of quarter scale POD using wind tunnel testing.

Ashtavinayak Constructions, India Supervisor Sept 2014 - Aug 2015

• Supervised about 50 Labors in construction and related activities.

• Inventory Management, labor Distribution, payment and maintained status quo with regular client & supplier meetings.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, India Sourcing Engineer Apr 2014 - Sept 2014

• Supervised a team of 9 professionals in manufacturing of over 1300 aircraft & jig parts using sheet metal, machining & finishing operations.

• Responsible for activities like job card preparation, material logistics, snag recognition & co-ordination with design dept. for rectification.

• Clarification of vendor queries for technical drawings.

• Organize vendor training program to help them with manufacturing standards and techniques.

• Developed portal to integrate the different sub teams with root cause analysis & lean to reduce the payment time to vendors by 20%.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, India Design Engineer Dec 2012 - Apr 2014

• Designed the pylon for integrating the large 2.5-ton projectile in the belly & at the central hard points of the SU-30 aircraft using structural/flow analysis. Used Nx, Hypermesh and Ansys for the design. The solution was verified with hand calculations.

• Snag rectification by structural/modal analysis and functionality difference caused. Learned GD&T principles.

• Provide repair schemes for the parts and support to quality & assembly department.

Academic Projects:

• Simulation of an interfacial flow in an inclined channel with floating objects (Research) Jan 2017 - May 2017

Simplified the problem statement and set up the flow in fluent using multiphase model. Analyzed the lift and drag forces of the flow with fixed object to develop mesh independent solution. Developed 6DOF code for the free-floating object.

• Finite Element Analysis of Rod Sept 2016 - Dec 2016

Solved the problem with rotating steel rod by analytical, Matlab and Abacus subjected to centrifugal force using linear, quadratic and cubic elements of different mesh sizes by comparing displacement and strain plots.

• Wind turbine blade analysis Sept 2016 - Dec 2016

Performed steady state fluid dynamic analysis on wind turbine rotating at given rpm. Used the pressure forces obtained from fluent to perform structural analysis to get the deformation and stress contours.

• Design and structural analysis of simply supported beam under given constraints Jan 2016 – May 2016

Modelled a simply supported beam under 1 in3 (0.69 in3) that undergoes a deformation of 1/8th inch under a load of 50lbs. Obtained mesh independent solution ANSYS Workbench. Model was 3d printed later and tested to validate the analysis.

• Solve Navier Stokes equations for two mixing fluids Jan 2016 - Apr 2016

Simulated the mixing of fluid with dye drops with certain viscosities using the 2D Navier Stokes and Poisson Equation using the fractional step method on a staggered mesh using MATLAB. Used GCI analysis to obtain fluid properties within specified accuracy.
