Experience

Assistant Electrical Engineer

TRANSCO - Transmission Corporation of Telangana Limited, Hyderabad, India (Nov 2013- Dec 2014)

Control the flow of electricity through transmission lines to industrial plants and substations that supply residential and commercial needs for electricity.

Monitored and operate current converters. Observe voltage transformers and circuit breakers.

Monitored other distribution equipment and record readings at a map board. operate and monitor equipment that increases or decreases voltage.

Monitored the status of transmission circuits and connections with substations and industrial plants.

Communicate with power plant operators, energy traders, and local utilities to route energy from generating stations to customers.

React to changes in the structure of the grid due to transformer or transmission line failures and route current around affected areas.

Operate switchboard levers to control the flow of electricity in and out of the substations.

Electrical Engineer Co-Op/Intern

Marathon Electric India Pvt. Ltd. Hyderabad, Telangana, India (April 2012-Feb 2013)

Improved electric machine performance through better materials, models and design algorithms

Worked with mechanical engineers to optimize efficiency, power and mass

Perform numerical simulations of electric machine performance and compare to experiment

Measured and analyzed electrical, mechanical and thermal performance of electric motors and aid in the design of new test equipment

Operated in a fast paced, ever changing work environment with little supervision

Assembled electric-motor control units, such as transmitters, relays, switches, voltage controls, and starters and mounts unit on panel per drawings and specifications, using hand tools and power tools: Cleans parts, using liquid cleaner, air hose, and cloth.

Tested electrical circuits for resistance, current, and potential difference, using instruments, such as ohmmeter, ammeter, and voltmeter.

Soldered electric wire connections and secures spring guides, setscrews, and spring post to units, using soldering iron and acetylene torch.

Projects

Speed control of induction motor by using PLC and SCADA system

Induction motor popularity is due to the simple design; they are inexpensive and easy to maintain and can directly connected to A.C sources.

To make a more precise closed loop control of motor speed. The use of tachometer to measure the speed and feed it back to the PLC, which compares to the desired value and take a control action

Control system will be held using the available Siemens PLC. In addition to this monitoring of motor parameters via SCADA system.

PLC based conveyor automation and monitoring

This project based on the automation segregation and directing of the material using programable logic controller

The idea is to automate the process of conveyor based on the material parameters using proximity sensors, color sensors-RYB and limiting sensors.

The main purpose is to replace the manual system being used in the industry and decrease the time delay.

Conversion of 1-phase to 3- phase drive system by using two parallel rectifiers

Statics phase of converter will charge and discharge capacitor to temporarily produce 3-phase current for matter of seconds.

Rotatory phase converter, converts from 1 phase to 3 phase, this provides reliable, balanced, effective and efficient electricity.

The proposed system is conceived to operate where the single-phase utility grid is the unique option available. Compared to the conventional topology, the proposed system permits: to reduce the rectifier switch currents.
