Equipment Technician for cosmetic factory assembly lines and warehouse. Job responsibilities included disassembling and assembly of equipment in a clean room environment. I also prepared equipment for offsite warehouse shipment and received and inspected incoming equipment. Familiar with vacuum, centrifugal and progressive cavity pump systems including belt and roller conveyor systems. I also operated the equipment and trained coworkers how to properly and efficiently operate the equipment.

6/2016 – 12/2016 Pioneer Construction Company Incorporated Honesdale PA

Estimator for the Bridge and Retaining Structures division. Projects were mostly PennDOT in rural NEPA. Take-offs were prepared using Agtek 4D and Excel spreadsheets. I was responsible for checking DOT’s quantities and generating a scope of work for phasing of construction. Coordinating with independent Engineers for design build projects including reviewing their scope. I also obtained subcontractors and vendors quotes along with the DBE/MBE requirements. I followed through with the project specific requirements and prioritized them for consideration and review.

5/2015 – 4/2016 Going Green Construction Services Incorporated Scranton PA

Estimator for General Construction Prime Contractor in Northeast PA. Projects bid were generally municipal buildings. I am familiar with the divisions of vertical work and coordinated with the subcontractors and vendors for their scope of work. I was responsible for an accurate bid proposal reflecting the bid documents, specifications and plans. Project specific qualifications were adhered to including DBE/WBE requirements.

8/2012 – 5/2015 SRI Incorporated Scranton PA

Estimator/Project Manager for complete Sitework in Northeast PA. Projects included PennDOT bids, County bids, AQUA and American Water solicitations, Commercial projects and Demolition projects. Estimates prepared with Agtek 4D and HCSS HeavyBid estimating software. I also assisted the accounting department with setting up cost projections for awarded contracts with certified payrolls, labor, equipment, fuel usage, material cost and subcontractor contracts. My duties also included tracking projects out for bid and obtaining the bid documents. Only estimator for the company with very limited double-checking of my take-offs, take-off accuracy was a must. Excellent relationship with subcontractors and suppliers.

6/2008 – 1/2012 The Lane Construction Corporation Chantilly VA

Lead Estimator for Heavy Highway and Bridge projects in Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Estimates prepared with Agtek 4D, Paydirt, and HCSS HeavyBid software. Estimates included earthwork, storm sewer, and utilities (water, sanitary sewer, and electrical duct banks). Projects included were VDOT public projects, VDOT and surrounding DOT’s Design Build projects, MWAA, BWI and Federal airport projects. I was the Lead Estimator for all earthwork quantities and phasing, I was the only estimator with Agtek and Paydirt experience in the Mid-Atlantic regional office.

Estimator/Project Manager for complete sitework in Northern Virginia. Projects included subdivisions, VDOT Bids, County Bids, and some commercial projects. Estimates prepared with Paydirt and HCSS HeavyBid estimating software. Entered and maintained Miss Utility tickets using Web Ticket entry, with an excellent relationship with the Safety Manager. Asphalt/Construction Estimator for complete Heavy Highway/sitework including earthwork, storm and sanitary sewer, watermains, retaining walls, pond structures, site concrete, and asphalt paving. I also worked with the Bridge Superintendent preparing VDOT bridge proposals. Estimates prepared with Paydirt and HCSS HeavyBid estimating software.

9/2002 - 5/2003 Andover Golf Course Andover OH

Superintendent Assistant for (my) family owned public nine-hole golf course. Responsibilities included course maintenance, equipment maintenance, and customer duties in the pro shop and lounge. I set up an inventory control spreadsheet for the pro shop and maintenance schedule for the equipment to upgrade the business. I also reduced inventory spending by negotiating pricing and finding alternate vendors with improved service and pricing.

Lead Estimator for bids in earthwork, paving, demolition, with some G.C. projects using Agtek software and CAD files per blueprints and specifications submitted. Presented accurate and cost saving estimates. Excellent communication skills with internal and external personnel. Projects successfully bid and completed included the San Antonio SBC arena, Round Rock semi-pro baseball stadium, numerous Wal-marts, Home Depot’s, Lowe’s, public schools, strip malls, subdivisions, DOT projects, and dozens of 20-acre apartment projects.

Heavy interaction with foremen, technicians, Intel personnel and outside vendors. Duties included reading blueprints, ordering materials, obtained pricing and lead time, created and maintained Excel charts and spreadsheets, attended weekly meetings to report project updates. Familiar with clean room protocol, HVAC, scrubber ductwork and supply air ductwork and applications.

Receiving and Warehouse I started in the warehouse building material racks, transporting materials with forklifts, issuing parts, and inventory control. In July 1993 transferred to Receiving and Distribution Department. In September 1993 promoted to Receiving Lead. Oversaw distribution and was solely responsible for receiving and verifying paperwork of twenty-nine vendors, half of which delivered daily. The total number of various other vendors delivering weekly varied from fifty to seventy-five. I was also assigned the manager position over the warehouse and receiving department for two months while the warehouse was short a managerial position.

OBJECTIVE:

My career objective is to obtain long term employment near my family centrally located in Winchester, VA.

I consider myself to be in the second half of my career, the better half with more experience. I welcome challenges that I can overcome and feel accomplishment at the end of the day. I am very detail oriented and organized. I pride myself on having answers at my fingertips to help the company run efficiently. I understand the importance of having a positive construction project schedule with finishing the project on time and under budget. I look for the out of the box opportunities to benefit my company and the project as a whole. I am comfortable with an Estimator and/or Project Manager position on all types of horizontal projects. I am proficient with HCSS HeavyBid in all aspects from beginning to end. I feel this quality could benefit an out of state organization with teleworking from home and being able to electronically send a completed HeavyBid estimate for review before bid time. I am capable of setting up the estimate for the reviewer to easily modify the bid to their benefit.
