Aerospace Quality Technician

Receive and process purchase orders for commercial and military contracts, leveraging synergistic relationships with customers to guarantee complete compliance for a quality product that meets or exceeds all specifications and industry standards including AS9100.

Perform routine audits on workstations and processes based on AS9100 requirements. Keep track of materials stock, and submit requests for materials as needed.

Work with Quality Assurance on non-conformance investigations to find the root cause of failure of production parts.

Create company drawings, operating and manufacturing files, required tooling, and Manufacturing/Quality Instructions (MQI’s) for parts based on the drawing and/or unigraphics file supplied by the customer. Write operating programs for part bending and laser cutting of manufactured parts.

Generate First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation for new parts. Prepare weld source qualification documentation for welded parts.

Operate and maintain 3D printers used to create part gauges for quickly measuring manufactured part features.

Completed examinations of GD&T features on production parts.

Ran destructive metallurgical examinations on weld samples.

Worked in a cross-functional group with engineering to perform metallurgical and dimensional examinations, and assisted with determining the root cause of failure in non-conformance investigations.

Performed passivation tests on production parts and engineering requests.

Performed color based and pH based titration tests on acid bath samples using manual techniques, and automated titration tester.
