Radiology Engineer 04/1984- 05/2014

Was hired to enable Radiology Manager to take equipment off of contract. Saved the hospital over $250,000 the first 2 years alone. Serviced equipment and found alternative parts supply lines for additional cost savings. Main duty was to repair and calibrate all diagnostic imaging equipment in radiology department including but not limited to; vascular labs, catheterization labs, ultrasound, ER, OR ICU, NICU, CCU and other departments. Familiar with many manufacturers and attended many schools over the years to be able to calibrate and troubleshoot to board level. My responsibilities also included being on call 24/7

Made upgrades to systems as needed such as modifications and software updates. Completed all paperwork including preventive maintenance forms and schedule PMS as needed. Kept all records complete and up to date for Joint Commission. Lead a team of 5 Radiology Engineers.

● PACS administrative assistant.

Troubleshot and tested network switches. Set up IP addresses, PORT numbers, subnet mask, auto negotiation parameters for radiology modalities.

Interfaced new equipment into the existing PACS system. Installed and configured software for each system. Also worked with Cisco, and ATT on interfacing and getting firewall protection for H.I.P.A.A. standards. Worked with McKesson Team via telephone to get IP addresses and port numbers for each modality and/or new equipment that was being installed. These would have direct connection to our in-house servers. Familiar with R.I.S. and H.I.S.. systems

The main reason for my hire, was to work on the newest computerized x-ray systems that were coming to market at that time. These x-ray systems used the latest state-of-the-art technology. I traveled to different sites and interfaced with the customers as to their needs. Performed repair and calibration to all systems under my responsibility. My sites included all Columbia hospitals and outlying facilities within an 80-100 mile radius.

Worked directly with Electronics Engineer on developing the latest computer memory Circuit boards. These were cutting edge technology. Wire wrapped boards in prototype fashion and ran them in environmental chambers to test their ability to withstand the elements.

Have obtained my Masters Electrician Card and second class FCC license. Completed online courses in Management from Wharton School of Business and have finished some graduate courses in management and accounting.
