I am a senior database administrator and developer since 1994. I have worked on a number of system development projects and participated in all phases of the development cycle. Technical knowledge and experience includes; extensive data modeling, logical and physical database design, server installation, back-up and recovery, maintenance, triggers, stored procedures, SQL Agents, traces, deadlock resolution, performance tuning, linking servers, ETL (DTS & SSIS) design, user administration and security, Visual Basic coding, Source Safe, ADO, RDO, DAO, Access and Windows. Client: Asea Brown & Boveri
Developed reporting system using Crystal Reports, PowerBuilder, and Oracle stored procedures.
Responsible for gathering, documenting, and disseminating requirements for the Market Channel Database.
Charged with updating Visual Basic code to version 4.0 in the Order Processor system. Also responsible for bug fixes in Visual Basic code and SQL statements in the Order Processor System.
Client: Aetna Life & Casualty
Charged with coding a Visual Basic application to predefined specifications for the National Accounts Quotations and Proposal system. 3-tier architecture using VB classes and DAO. Responsible for Database class, and multiple user forms.
The database class is responsible for initializing the database, setting up basic database objects, verifying the integrity of the database’s attachments, and automatically reconnecting database tables whose attachments have been severed.
Solution had to be DBMS independent. Transactions used to manually cascade changes and deletions through database.
Client: Hyperion
Completed development of a Process Automation system in Visual Basic 4.0, using DAO and several Windows API calls. A system that allows users to schedule tasks to be run at future dates and assigned dependencies upon other tasks, so that execution would branch upon the success or failure of execution.
Modified Process Automation’s setup program to become a standard, generic setup program.
Client: Ensign Bickford
Designed and built a Request for Bid Proposal system using Visual Basic. System tracks bids as they come in; references EB’s master part number list; creates custom lists for individual clients; and uses Microsoft Access to report on sales statistics generated by the system.
Designed a document storage facility used to upload job control document files into a “database” of information.
Client: Hyperion
Designed and built a system in Excel using VBA for translating Excel Spreadsheets into flat text files for importing into Hyperion Financials system. Validation of data was supported by balancing entries and compensating for discrepancies by adjusting a “Suspense account”.
Optimized SQL pass-through queries gathering data from database and created reports based on this information.
Client: Fleet Bank
Was a member of a team responsible for developing a Loan Scrub System to check commercial loan portfolios for errors, omissions, and inconsistencies. Loan data was verified against and compared to data residing on a mainframe.
Did extensive SQL coding for database updates and retrieval.
Debugged and modified code using Microsoft Access.
Client: ConnectiCare
Accountable for design, development, implementation and on-going support of several Insurance database development projects.
Performed initial information gathering and worked closely with the client area to ensure business requirements were satisfied. Projects were completed using Access, Excel and Word, and included Small Business Plan Quoting System, Workers Compensation Case Management System and Provider Directory System.
