Conduct covert and overt investigations when necessary. Performs security officer duties in accordance with appropriate regulations to detect and prevent theft, damage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage and to enforce the security regulations of the facility. Verifies identification through use of identification cards, badges, biometrics, automated records, verbal questioning, and other means. Duties such as but not limited to, ensuring compliance with written policy and procedure in operations. Assist in visitor escorts, protection and special dignitary functions.
High degree of maturity. The ability to calmly facilitate the appropriate resolution of difficult ethical and crisis situations. The ability to analyze, understands, and explain the value and opposition of security initiatives to senior executives and Board members with a key requirement of position.
Analyze security documents and manuals as the company's designated security officer and maintain appropriate levels of controls.
Perform periodic security inspections and process clearances/special accesses and debriefing.
Create and distribute security manuals, documents and records. Maintain facility security requirements and implement procedures for safeguarding proprietary and customer furnished data.
Maintain inspection reports and records and advise senior management of deficiencies and remedial/disciplinary efforts to ameliorate deficiencies.
Prepare personnel actions and forms to request security clearance/special access and maintains record of such requests. Briefs incoming staff on security processes and debriefs outgoing staff.
Conduct security awareness training sessions with new staff.
Assist in the implementation and administration of automated security systems. Maintain records for periodic secure system inspections with customer liaisons and other technical professionals
Interface with security personnel at the corporate headquarters
Investigate and report security violations and incident reports
Oversee office access and alarm system with third party company
Personnel security:
Assist with in-processing for all new employees including orientation for company policies and clearance applications for uncleared employees
Oversight of security related computer system updates performed by IT specialist
Responsible for local inventory, maintenance and software license management
