OBJECTIVE:

After having taught successfully in public education for many years, I would now like to devote my considerable abilities and training to teach and direct educational opportunities as an Educational Specialist for the Capitol in D.C.

WORK HISTORY:

I have taught middle school and high school Language Arts and Special Education for approximately thirty-five years. I am certified in English and Special Education in the state of Maryland.

After retirement from Prince George’s County schools in 2003, I taught for many years in Baltimore County Public schools. I left the Baltimore County School to pursue my certifications in special education. I want to give back to those less fortunate than I.

In the course of my teaching I have been honored as “Teacher of the Year” at Bladensburg High School.

I have taught two years on the college level at Prince George’s Community

College as an Adjunct Professor of English.

I have served as English Chairperson at Bowie High School for several years.

I have been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the teacher’s union in Prince George’s County by the teachers in Prince George’s County.

I have taken the necessary coursework at the University of Maryland and I am a certified Multi-Cultural and TAG Specialist.

I have coached tennis for over eleven years at Bladensburg Senior High School(recently at Tall Oaks Academy in 2013-14), and I have coached boys’ and girls’ lacrosse at Milford Mill Academy in Baltimore County for several years.

I have been the SAT Coordinator in charge of all regular school, after-school, and Saturday School SAT programs for many years at Bowie High School and then at Milford Mill High School in Baltimore County.

EDUCATION:

Received a BA from the University of Maryland

Received an MED from the University of Maryland

Completed an additional 30 hours of course work on the graduate level in Shakespearean and Baroque studies at the University of Maryland.
