Design Engineer-GRADUATE

Wichita State University, Wichita, KS Aug ‘15-Present

• Investigated to remodel the car bumper to enhance driving conditions and driver safety during snowfall using CATIA V5 design environment.

• Designed and interpreted the aircraft elevator mechanism of Cessna 172 aircraft using CATIA v5 and evaluated simulations utilizing ADAMS.

• Analyzed structural stresses and performed component wise in-depth meshing of the aircraft landing gear using HYPERMESH.

• Performed cervical modeling on 50% adult male human head dummy to ensure passenger safety condition with reference to HIC (Head Injury Criterion).

• Generated ECR (Engineering Change Reports) as well as handling DFMEA to consistently monitor and improve engineering design process.

• Engineered the complex stress strain calculations to improve the product life and effectively utilized DFSS concept to manage the 4M's.

• Participated on cross functional teams to launch products, resolve issues, and support product improvements.

Design Engineer

Zuti Engineering Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad (INDIA): May ‘13-Dec ‘14

• Applied knowledge of plastic part design, injection-molding into design concepts and developed parameterized cup holders and created the 2D drawings in CATIA v5.

• Worked on projects to design instrument panel, interior door panels and engine parts of TATA Indica eV2 using CATIAv5 and SOLIDWORKS.

• Excelled in gaining experience on the design, manufacturing and working of CRDI (Common Rail Direct Injection), TDI (Turbocharged direct injection) and QuadraJet Engines.

• Conferred Engineering design and analysis fundamentals utilizing CATIA V5 and ANSYS.

• Evaluated structural parameters for the body doors and hood of a car and analyzed principal stress and load deformation occurring during the working of the car using Ansys Intern

GOE, Hyderabad (INDIA): Oct ‘12 – Mar ‘13

• Served as a team leader for 6-member team to meticulously study various components involved in power generation including boiler, air heaters, fans, compressor, turbine, and mountings.

• Conducted boiler efficiency calculations to show that the boiler was operating at efficiency of 80.9%.

• Observed boiler / retrieved required values for needed calculations to increase boiler efficiency by 0.01% through use of quality coal with calorific value of greater than 3200 (3600 Kcal/Kg), resulting in increased power generation by 0.5MW.

GRADUATE THESIS WORK

Graduate Research Assistant Aug ‘15 – Present

Title: Computational analysis and evaluation of vehicle occupant response and structural damage of a car onto a rigid pole according to FMVSS side impact regulation.

• Evaluated critical injury parameters of the occupant and vehicle structural damage according to pole test in FMVSS 214 side impact regulation. Tools used: Hypermesh, LS-Dyna.

• The pole test was simulated to report the critical dummy injury parameters and intrusion sustained by the vehicle in both the scenarios.

• Modified seat design to replace the current seat in a Toyota Yaris car.

• Seat was designed to provide the occupant with an average of 15 to 20 mm clearance from the struck door.

• The structural damage (intrusion) of the B-pillar for the pole tests was evaluated according to the IIHS side impact ratings.

• Determined intrusion and energy absorbing capacity of the door in accordance with the basic principles of crashworthiness.

• Determined effectiveness of the vehicle structure by testing the finite element model of Toyota Yaris car according to FMVSS 214, IIHS and side pole test. PROJECTS

• Working Mechanism of an Aircraft’s Elevator

• Design and Improvement of Tri Copter

• Cervical Modeling and Analysis of Dummies in an Aircraft Seat Simulation

• Installation of a Snow Removing Mechanism for a Car Bumper

• Structural Analysis of a Swimming Pool diving Board Tools Used: CATIA V5, ANSYS V14.5, MSc ADAMS 2012, CREO (Pro-E) 3.0 CONFERENCES

• Presented a paper on “Steering and Suspension for All-Terrain vehicle” at VIRTUAL BAJA FAIR Organized by Society of Automotive Engineers at MJCET, Hyderabad, India in July 2010

• Presented a seminar paper on “Design of Water Car” at Samriti11 a national level event held at Apex Engineering College, Warangal, India in October 2011

• Presented a paper on “Design and Analysis of Automobile Pistons of different configurations” at National Institute of Technology, Warangal, India in August 2012
