ACHIEVEMENTS

Two of the positions I have held were 12.5 hours a day, 7 days a week (the GM Diesel Engine Plant. I was the only member of management on the premises. I managed ALL maintenance personnel, production personnel, outside contractors, security personnel, safety meetings, timekeeping, etc.

Served as senior member and skilled trades’ representative on team involved in design and manufacture of new shock absorber product. Resulted in awarding of major contract and contributed to 27% reduction in production costs, over $1M in initial investment savings and retention of 300 jobs/employees.

Repaired and rebuilt air cylinders, hydraulic cylinders, clutches, hydraulic motors and gear boxes, pumps, assembly line stations, punch presses, conveyors, gear boxes/reducers, hydraulic valves, and many other types of production machinery.

Redesigned and modified magnetic clutches and extended life from six weeks to one year. Saved $48K in replacement costs.

Assumed responsibility as quality control inspector and ensured proper electrical, chemical and gauging properties of products which contributed to their world-class quality.

Assigned to preventive maintenance team to identify conveyors, welders, presses, and other production machinery in need of repair. Effort enabled company to maintain peak manufacturing levels without disruption.

Managed a business generating $1.4M in revenues annually and serving 500+ customers daily. Through quality customer service as well as effective staff recruiting and training, achieved sales 25% above other outlets operated by the organization in same local market.

Assigned total responsibility for maintaining inventory of repair parts, expediting repairs and troubleshooting for problems before they occur to reduce production down-time. Recognized by supervision as the most effective employee in maintaining and servicing these machines.
