KEY PROJECTS

Calvin College, Mechanical Engineering Undergrad Thesis Project Sept – May 2015-2016 Produced a prosthetic leg prototype that is able to adjust according to the amputee’s condition of below-knee or above- knee cut with no expert assistance at all. The goal that was met was a prototype that is 1/10 cost of the cheapest prosthetic leg in the market ($5000) as constrained by the budget for this project.

Researched and reached out to Hanger. Inc for mentorship in prosthetics and to be the supplier for prosthetic adaptors.

Coordinated three other teammates by organizing the workload and distributing them properly according to their skills, mentality, and availability.

Applied AutoCAD and AutoCAD Inventor skills to create and assemble a prosthetic prototype to obtain feedback from the other teammates, while providing feedback to them with their designs.

Created excel cost-estimate books in an individual prosthetic level to a mass production level with a teammate.

Performed multiple duties to cover the other teammate’s jobs, such as website creation, machining, and finance, as they left for personal reasons temporary.

Operated machinery and performed load bearing tests on prototype parts to meet the required 400 lbs. limit and adjustability for both trans-tribal and trans-femoral prosthetic types. Calvin College, Solar PV Feasibility Project (ENGR W83: Sustain) Jan 2016 The Board of Directors of Grand Rapids Airport (Gerald R. Ford International Airport) provided a project about the possibility to have PV Solar panels to power part of their facility and to generate profit from it.

Researched on a federal financial aid, Airport Improvement Program (AIP), for PV solar construction.

Created an excel cost estimate and bill of materials sheet and tested it for accuracy, until the panel, site, and inverter team provided the cost data.

Calvin College, Sustainability Project (ENGR333: Thermal System and Design) Sept – Dec 2015 The project goal is to save Calvin College by 600,000 per year through their energy usage and asset management within the given facilities by the professor and the director of the physical plant.

Researched other related sustainability projects for more possible ideas and interviewed with various lead building supervisors for possible optimization.

Taking the role of sub leader for the water sustainability team and research on potential water assets changes.

Read building schematics from the physical plant’s blue prints and collected window dimensions to compile it into a clean excel data file. Later acknowledged by the class and professor for dedicated and professional work ethics. SOFTWARE & SKILLS
