Director, Human Resources

Provided leadership to develop a strategic plan to promote a values-driven culture to leverage the needs of the Foundation staff. This plan consisted of developing an HR Infrastructure that supported the Foundation’s mission, leveraged technology for efficient and effective processes and staff development to promote and enhanced organization’s core values, interdepartmental collaboration and built a sustainable change framework.

Designed and implemented a change management plan resulting in major changes to the organization - 40 hour work week, new work hours, expanded telecommuting program, and a reduction in PTO cap.

Researched, selected and implemented a Professional Employment Organization (PEO) to provide HRIS system, payroll system and automated time and attendance capability for increased efficiency and reduced costs.

Redesigned performance management system to include goal setting, core and position specific competencies, linked performance to rewards system and automated process.

ST. VINCENT MEDICAL CENTER 2007 - 2015

Provided leadership to the HR staff for this 384 bed tertiary acute care hospital. Performed assessment of department capabilities, strengths and opportunities; proposed changes to increase department’s effectiveness and efficiency. Redefined staff roles for clarity and accountability. Developed policy and procedures based on best practices, consistent HR procedures, and developed management and employee communications plans.

Developed a Human Resources function with capability for inclusion into teams designed to concentrate on day to day operational objectives and long term strategies for overall Medical Center productivity and competiveness.

Developed relationship and strategy to work with two unions to effectively resolve outstanding labor grievances at lowest cost possible including mediation and arbitration.
