Developed lithium hybrid batteries for the SDI (DARPA) missile defense program. Produced lithium/sea water batteries for electric torpedo propulsion (U.S. Dept. of the Navy-MK50 torpedo).
Manager Process Development – Avery Dennison Corp.
Directed a staff of 15 engineers and technicians for optimization and development of improved production technologies, quality control and workforce training.
Developed novel silicone formulations and advanced curing systems like electron beam and ultraviolet radiation
Reduced manufacturing costs on key product lines by over $25 million by incorporation of improved process control and innovative technology.

Manager Coating Operations – Wrayco Industries
Directed efforts of a 24/7 paint and coatings operation employing 35 laborers and technicians. Customers included: Caterpillar, Case New Holland and Volvo Construction Equipment Divisions. Paint was two part catalyzed epoxy and was thermally cured.
Responsible for final assembly and shipping of over three hundred fuel and hydraulic tanks per day. Directed the installation and start-up of a $10 million powder coating facility to replace the solvent based paint operations. Hands on process development, equipment de-bugging and operations modification to insure customer quality and delivery schedules were maintained during the transition to powder coating.
