Assists attendants/ambulance of the company designated/P&I(Protection and Indemnity Insurance) accredited clinics in fetching repatriated sick/injured seafarers from the airport and likewise assist the same for proper admission to the hospital for confinement/further treatment.
In case, patient refused to be endorsed/transported directly to accredited hospital upon arrival at the airport, facilitates execution of a Waiver by the Sick crew for purpose of documenting his refusal.
Assists relatives of deceased crewmember in fetching/claiming and transport of the human remains from the airport to the family designated funeral parlor.
Prepares endorsement letter for sick/injured seafarer to accredited clinic/hospital for further medical treatment/medication.
Advise Principal/Owners on seafarers’ initial medical findings and request for principal’s confirmation to cover payment of crew’s medical expenses and illness allowance.
(If approved) process crewmembers benefits (Sickness allowance, reimbursements and hospital bills)
Updates Principals on crew’s medical progress, within two working days from date/time of receipt of medical certificates from company designated clinics.
Advises clinics/doctors on the number of sickness benefits crew has consumed (30/60/90/120 days) and request for assessment on crew’s possibility of fitness to work or disability grading.
Coordinates and submits proper documents to the local P&I correspondents (Manila) to facilitate processing of crew’s medical/disability/death claims.
Represents the company to the local P&I representatives and attends/stands as witness on the settlement of disability and/or death compensation due to crew/legal beneficiaries.
Issues 120 Days Certification to the crew who has consumed 120 days sickness benefits.
Send the “‘FIT TO WORK” or “NOT FIT TO WORK” reports to Marine Personnel Assistant (MPA) of the seafarer.
Attends to other staff’s work assignment in case of absence.
