AVP for MIS, Sterling Paper Group of Companies 2016 - present Responsible for the evaluation, recommendation, implementation of information systems and technology for Sterling Paper (manufacturing) and its affiliates which include SL Agritech (seeds and rice production), Central Bookstore (trading), Straight lines International (publishing), SL Foods

MIS Manager, Sterling Paper Group of Companies 1999 – 2016 Manage IT department composed of professionals with different skills such as business process skills, SAP functional and technical skills, web and PHP development, network, system and server administration. Attends regular business operations meeting with OPCOMmembers represented by owners and division heads. Manage day-to-day IT operations of the entire Sterling Paper Group. Key Projects and Achievements:
Organized and lead a corporate-wide software selection committee which included the company President, head of finance, sales, marketing, logistics and production in the evaluation and selection of ERP software that best fitted company business requirements
Assembled an implementation team which is composed of business process experts, IT and external consultants that implemented the R/3 system on time and within budget
Helped achieved the project objectives with the implementation of SAP these include reduction of order to delivery process from 5 days to 2-3 days; streamlining of business processes; as well as visibility of relevant information across the company for management and decision makers
Implemented centralization of master data maintenance to IT department such as material, customer, vendor for control purposes
Lead an internal team that performed a technical upgrade of R/3 from 4.5B to 4.7 release version in 2006. Has successfully done the migration with very minimal support from SAP consultants. The company has avoided huge amount in consulting services in the process.
Implemented wireless access points in the warehouse that linked multiple facilities which allowed them to connect to the host server in Makati head office. This has resulted to significant reduction in monthly cost of domestic leased lines
Supervised installation of VoIP server in head office to avoid long distance call charges between head office & branch; branch to head office and branch to branch voice calls.
Implemented centralized printing by department to reduce number of printers deployed. This has enabled us to transfer the repair and maintenance function to an external IT company. Additionally, this has resulted to savings to our company in terms of ink costs.
Developed, implemented and maintain SAP security roles and authorization for SAP R/3 modules instead of hiring a SAP partner to design the security for us. This has enabled the company to save money on consulting services in the process.
Helped developed interfaces to upload transactions from non-SAP system (POS, payroll, locator billing, product returns) to SAP.
Supervised the configuration of RoundCube (an open-source email system) which IT has deployed and served as corporate email for employees of group of companies.
Helped deployed Squirrel mail (SMTP, IMAP) for company executives, managers, supervisors and other employee who needs to exchange emails with suppliers, customers, business partners, consultants.
Recommended the use of OpenOffice to management for employees who we considered non- power users of office productivity tool. This has resulted to big savings to company by avoiding to buy costly Microsoft Office licenses.

Supervised development of timekeeping module (for field staff and office staff using finger scan terminal). Sterling Paper employs over 3000 nationwide.
Helped developed Price Verifier terminal with software and hardware integration for retail stores which allows customers to check price of the goods without going to the cashier to scan the item at the counter.
Lead a team of programmers that developed point-of-sales system and installed the system along with barcode reader in the retail stores to facilitate customer check out
Supervised installation of POS terminals at the stores. The company operates 45 Expressions shops and MartOne department stores with over 200 POS terminals currently installed.
Provided data links to the branches through a combination of IP VPN, frame relay, DSL, dial up connection. This has enabled faster exchange of data transfer.
Lead a team of business analyst and programmers in developing sales order and billing, inventory control and account receivable modules on Fujitsu midrange computer system using COBOL language.
Helped developed Locator Billing system for the locators (tenants) that have set up businesses in our techno park. This is to facilitate the meter-reading, calculation of dues and penalties for late payment. The 3 techno parks owned by Sterling are located in Meycauayan and Marilao Bulacan, and Cavite.
