NRL is the Pakistan’s second largest Petroleum Refining Complex consists of two Lube Refineries and one Fuel Refinery having total capacity of 62,500 BPSD. NRL Produces variety of products such as LPG, Kerosene, Jet Fuels, Gasoline, Diesel, Furnace Oil and other specialized oil products to serve defense sector, local and international markets. PLANNING ENGINEER March 2012 - Present

Working as Planning Engineer for Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Closing of Shutdowns / Turnarounds and Preventive Maintenance of Lube-I, Lube-II & Fuel Refineries through effective utilization of SAP PM as CMMS tool to ensure reliability and availability of all Equipments, to prevent unscheduled outages and thereby improve Plant on Stream Factor.

Job responsibilities are as follows:

Delivering Turnaround s & Preventive Maintenance Deliverables for various Refinery units with compliance and firm commitment to HSEQ procedures and policies.

Coordinate with internal multi-disciplinary team to set the Turnaround Planning Milestones target dates on the assigned Plant / Units and follow up to achieve the target.

Develop the complete scope of work through organizing Final Job List in collaboration with multidisciplinary internal team members for Turnarounds/Shutdowns.

Prepare Cost Estimation and Budget Proposals based on approved Scope of Work for Turnarounds.

Prepare Cost effective Technical and Commercial Documents, RFQs as per company policy including complete scope of work, terms and conditions and BOQs.

Estimation and assurance of availability of all required Materials through Foreign Purchase, Local Purchase, Local Manufacturing and In House Manufacturing sources for Turnarounds as per specifications concerned to API, ASME, ASTM ANSI & other standards via reservations through Maintenance Orders or by creating Purchase Requisitions in SAP MM.

Evaluate Technical Offers for materials like Equipment Spares, Pipe & Pipe Fittings, Valves etc. based on applicable ASME, API and other recommended standards.

Carryout Technical and Financial Evaluation of Contractor’s quotations for service procurement through Contracts Cell.

Carryout Resources Estimation for different Turnaround Phases and Finalized Manpower and Equipment Deployment schedules for Pre, Post and during Turnaround.

Defining roles and responsibilities through Organogram and Assignment Charts for Turnarounds.

Carryout Follow Up of procurement of materials required for Turnarounds through Procurement section and ensures timely availability of materials to avoid delay in Turnaround Execution.

Carryout communication and coordination with all relevant internal and external stakeholders for arrangement of Turnaround Pre-requisites and mobilization of contractor(s) respectively.

Prepare Work Packages Files for Turnaround Execution Team that consist of Scope of Work, Materials Reservation List, Drawings etc.

Supervise the Execution of Pre-Fabrication Activities of Turnarounds in Fabrication Yard and issues all relevant Permits.

Preparation of comprehensive Level-IV activity plan in collaboration with selected contractor(s) with Resource Loading / Leveling for Shutdowns /Turnarounds and Scheduling activities through Primavera for Critical Path Analysis.

Prepare List of required Hot Work Permits on daily basis during Turnaround through contractor and communicate it to HSE Department for their information and further required necessary actions.

Supervising team of Area Planners for effective Monitoring and Reporting of overall Turnaround activities through S-curves of Planned & Actual activities on daily basis and identifying areas of concerns and bottleneck regions.

Carrying out Close out activities for Turnarounds like Material Reconciliation, verification of invoices, lesson learnt and Critique Meeting for continuous up gradation.

Prepare and follows up on implementation of Preventive Maintenance Schedules on monthly basis consisting of approximately 300 work orders and adjusts schedules as needed after liaises with Operation Personnel.

Ensures balanced distribution of Work Orders among maintenance manpower for efficient utilization of manpower and resources.

Generates Maintenance Management Reports / KPI’s – Preventive Maintenance Compliance, Budget Compliance, Manpower Utilization, and Preventive Maintenance Backlog.

Record Keeping of entire Turnaround Documents and daily Preventive Maintenance Orders through Document Controller.

Ensures implementation and effective utilization of SAP PM (CMMS) by imparting training to end users as SAP PM Power User.

Maintain and create all SAP PM Master Data, Maintenance Plans.

Create, settle and complete Maintenance Orders in SAP PM by maintaining spare parts requirements, support services, actual duration, and start & finish date with time and resources.

Update Equipment Maintenance History and job records in SAP PM.

Develop Standard Operating Procedures incorporating Quality, Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Controls, seeking technical assistance as required from concerned Manager, IMS (HSEQ) MR, IMS (HSEQ) DMR, DMR (EMS), DMR (QMS) & DMR (OHSAS).

Assist Planning Engineer in making detailed execution schedule (Level-IV, Primavera P6) with all the requirements as mentioned in the scope of work by list down the activities, estimating duration, resource requirement in consultation with Area Engineers and feeding that data in Primavera P6.

Prepare Progress reporting formats and S-curves.

Prepare comprehensive activity Plan for Pre-fabrication of Inspection Advise Tickets of Pipelines about 10,000 Dia, Inches.

Update the progress and analyze planned v/s actual man-hours variance on daily basis.
