As a start-up in Mexico and Latin America, the operations, sales, and marketing strategies were designed for the first time. I created the first regional sales and marketing plans with a limited budget from the corporate. The organization in the region started from acquiring the client bases from smaller local dial-up companies. The goal was to preserve those acquired customers plus getting new ones.

• Creation of the first regional marketing and sales strategies, and business plans considering the preservation of a 100,000 clients base from the acquired companies.

• Interviewed and built-up the appropriate team for both areas, sales, and marketing, locally and coordinated of the staffing in other countries.

LAM Marketing Manager, Visio Corporation, Seattle, WA. 08/98 to 04/00 Visio Corporation was my first regional position and a challenge that held an extraordinary growth opportunity. I was part of the corporate team working remotely from Mexico City. I was part of the business development team in the region, and I pride myself in having outstanding results almost duplicating the client’s base and surpassing the sales quota on a 40%.

• Created the regional strategy and plan aligned with the corporate goals

• Implemented all the marketing and communication initiatives in ten countries including Brazil supported only with outsourced providers; including PR agencies, promo vendors, and events organizers.

• Designed a Channel Marketing strategy and plan to support 20 distribution partners along the region

Visio was an insanely successful company. Microsoft acquired Visio in late 1999; the delivery finished in April 2000. Microsoft did not offer a position to the regional marketing team.
