Position Facility and Machine Maintenance Supervisor
Duties
I was responsible for overseeing the construction of 115,000 square foot building. My responsibilities were to assist general contractors in architects contracted by Rockwell International. After the building was completed I did the hiring and training of all maintenance personnel for our operation. I mid 1982 due to oil production cutbacks a decision was made to close operations in the Waco plant. I was asked to move the equipment in the Waco plant to Glasgow, Scotland at a new plant start-up there. My responsibilities were to crate the equipment for overseas shipment, move it to freight port in Houston, and ship it to Scotland. I had to meet the machinery in port in Scotland and arrange for the loading and trucking to East Kilbride, Scotland. Once there I set up the equipment to the satisfaction of the Plant Manager and assisted in solving other machine related problems. I returned to the United States the end of 1983.
