Capital Appropriation / Storage / Material Handling / Inventory Control – Re-engineering warehouse utilization employing high-density storage applications, electronic requisitioning, and location-controlled inventory process. Results: improved overall annual savings (in one instance $193M not including additional sales) and an overall average per order cycle time reduction (as much as 6.35 minutes with first year sales increase of 9.8% forecasted). ROI: 1.5 years.

A start-up organization for orthopedic medical device implants. My core responsibilities were to develop, manage and implement all tactical and strategic aspects of materials management and supply chain management activities. Some accomplishments included:

Strategic Sourcing Program – Resulted in the reduction of raw material vendors from 11 to 6, saving 13% of budget. Provided services with in-depth understanding in contractual form, synchronization of various types of purchase orders and corporate agreements for lean operations, including associated schedules, Key Performance Indicators, change orders, amendments and legal issues with customers/vendors.

Enhanced WP and raw material handling - Implemented new I.D. tags, totes and racks. Reduced inventory waste by 7%, saving $96,000.00 annually and decreased errors from 17% to 3%, increasing safety and cleanliness.

BOM & MRP - Initiated, developed, and implemented a new Bill of Materials (BOM) template and SOP. Controlled the authoring, entering and evaluation of BOMs into Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Microsoft Great Plains Software).

Financial Considerations / Analysis Related to Labor and Materials – Developed and implemented reporting processes; including various ratio analysis such as: Liquidity, Activity, Leverage, Profitability Rations, cash flow, budget analysis (budget versus inventory levels).

Lean - Developed (my own creation), implemented and managed “Production Run Unit Packs” (PRUPs), reducing direct and indirect inventory 90% for particular product line items.

Budgets/ Cash Flow - A key responsibility was to review and control the flow of cash. Expressed in units, dollars, by week, month and quarter.

Process Reengineering – Reduced lead time 28%, labor requirements 20% (within six months) and reduced back orders from 40% to less than 5%, by leading internal process reengineering to improve customer service.

Tactical Operations - Maintained real and virtual office locations, responsible for day-to-day operations including implementation of the policies and programs of the organization.
