• Senior Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Professional: California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), San Marcos, CA 2015 – Present: The SR&S Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director with planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining the various programs necessary to: ensure a safe and healthy environment for faculty, staff, students, and the general public; protect the University against losses; and ensure that University operations are in compliance with University policies and standards, California Occupational Safety & Health Act (Cal- OSHA) and other applicable environmental and health rules, regulations, and laws. Other typical responsibilities include:
- Actively liaison with State and Federal regulatory personnel, as well as ensuring compliance with nationally recognized standards of best practices.
- Provide guidance toward the campus’ comprehensive environmental, sustainability, health and safety programs – which supports the teaching, service and research mission of the campus community, and its facilities.

• Safety Professional (Finance/Risk Management Department): City of San Antonio, TX 2014 – 2015: Worked with specific Departments and managerial staff to eliminate, reduce, or otherwise mitigate the City's exposure to loss resulting from occupational injuries/illnesses, vehicle accidents, third party liability claims, and property loss. Typical responsibilities include:
- Organized, coordinate, and attend meetings with the accident review boards/safety committees. Provided or recommend visual aids, training aids, and other materials on specific safety subjects. 3
- Reviewed and enforce Federal, State, and local safety and transportation regulations and standards. Led the effort to develop and maintain departmental safety policies, manuals, standard operating procedures, and accident review boards.

Deputy Director of Training:

o Monitored, compiled, and processed technical data, and developed specialized computer generated forms, charts, necessary to ensure the smooth flow of data information in support of the $5.5 Billion Peace Shield Project.

Vehicle Fleet and Facility Manager:
o Managed and monitored a $1.75M housing program budget, in support of 75 residential quarters. Coordinated refurbishing efforts, acquired furniture/equipment, and provided lodging facilities for VIPs and temporarily assigned personnel. o Developed procedures necessary for the security certain government buildings/facilities; conducted inspections at remote site locations; briefed directorate personnel on administrative, safety, and security concerns.
o Managed a fleet of more than 200 vehicles. Developed safety/operational and policies; managed fuel consumption; purchased new vehicles; evaluated maintenance and costs. ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• Spearheaded the implementation of ergonomic software, which assessed/evaluated CSUSM employee body postures and contributors to physical discomfort.
• Developed a comprehensive safety activity tracking system for the City of San Antonio. The system is developed to collect/accumulated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) information, and is currently in use to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the City’s safety program.
• Planned and implemented an SCE company-wide Wireless Remote Monitoring System (WRMS), which monitors the operational activity of portable and stationary assets. As a result, WRMS was directly responsible for detecting potential non-compliance activities, resolved regulatory issues, and saved the company significant time, labor, and man-hours.
• Developed strategies to manage an SCE departmental vehicle fleet, which resulted in a 22% reduction in mileage expenditures and a $24K savings to the overall vehicle budget. Received praise and recognition from managerial personnel for resolving critical transportation issues, which helped to increase productivity and lead to a reduction of costs.
• Negotiated with state/local government agencies to resolve non-compliance SCE issues, resulting in a reduction of potential Notices of Violations (NOVs). Air Quality Management District officials stated that my efforts were responsible for changing the issuance of NOVs, instead to issuances of Notices to Comply (NTCs).
• As a contributor to SCE’s General Rate Case (GRC) team, provided essential financial/budget information and expertise regarding air quality-related initiatives. Received special recognition for efforts in the form of an Award to Celebrate Excellence (ACE) reward. 6
• Played a major role in a benchmarking effort to evaluate the effectiveness of SCE’s employee commute reduction program targets, which resulted in the implementation of an alternate strategy that reduced overall budgeted expenditures by approximately $2M annually.
• Established performance metrics for SCE, which focused on enhancing compliance requirements. This resulted in a 70% increase in site visits to critical garage facilities, and improved client/departmental relationships.
