Resume:

Michael H. Hamrich ac1frk@r.postjobfree.com 216-***-****

I've been called a Help Desk Analyst, Linux Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, Sr. Linux Systems Architect, Sales Engineer, CIO, Work-flow Process Manager and most recently a Change Agent. I love seeing how different business work and how they leverage technology. I've been privileged to get a “behind the scenes” view of hundreds of different organizations. Manufacturers, distributors, Medical, non-profits and providers of many services. This unique experience combined with my technical abilities gives me powerful insights that have proven to be very accurate. I have the patience and knowledge to support all skill levels of end users. I've been using Linux professionally since 1997 and Microsoft Windows since 1992. Specializing in Streamlining and Supporting Business processes since the 90's and securing systems since 2003, I'm used to high pressure environments where 24/7 up time was required. Have a detailed understanding of TCP/IP protocols, Business Accounting procedures, 802.11 Wireless, the importance of due diligence, how all 7 OSI layers work, and how to manage and work with creative and technical people. I moved 99% of data-center operations to the “cloud” in 2011. “No server or business process I designed, configured or exclusively maintained has ever been exploited, I also have a 3 page list of programming languages & tool sets I've used.

List of acronyms of things I actually know how to use: Mircosoft Word, Excel, Viso, Power Point, VI, Exchange, Routing, Cisco, IoS, BGP, WAN, DLCI, ATM, PRI, VPN, QoS, switches, firewall, IPS, Apache, LKM, NFS, RAID, Ceph, Mod_Security, NYGX, Tomcat, IIS, Memcache, reverse proxy, load balancing, PHP, Perl, Python, ASP, Java, SOAP, BASIC, SNMP, MTRG, Nagios, Radius, SAML, PCI, SSL, Kerberos, VOIP, SQL, MySQL, Unix, AIX, Xenix, RHEL, CentOS, Oracle, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, AWS, Sendmail, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, CIFS, IDM,OCR,ICR,OMR,barcode, Citrix Xen, VDI, Docker, Vmware, KVM, ESX, XenCenter vSphere, Develop and Support of Andriod and Apple IoS.

Behavioral Competencies:

Conflict Management:

I step up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities. I read all situations quickly, I'm good at focused listening and can hammer out tough agreements and settle disputes

equitably by finding common ground with all the

stakeholders involved.

Customer Focus:

I'm dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers. I believe their issues help in improving the products offered. I act with the them in mind, but don't

“give away” the shop. I know when support is billable or not. I establish effective relationships with customers. Learning on the Fly:

I learn quickly, especially when facing new problems. I'm a relentless and versatile learner with a library of over 300 books and I’m open to change. I analyze both successes and failures for clues to improvement and experiment trying anything to find solutions. I enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. I have a wide view and can quickly grasp the essence and the underlying structure of anything. Management Abilities:

I use to be a “uber nerd” only caring about the most optimized solutions. Now I have learned from owning my own business the importance of time management & billing and holding people accountable, especially to deadlines. That being a sage like father figure that an employee can trust to go to when they are having issues on a project is priceless.

Problem Solving:

I use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probe all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; and am excellent at honest analysis, looking beyond the obvious and not stopping at the first answers.

Patience:

I am tolerant to both people and processes. I listen before acting and try to understand the people, rules, data and technology involved before making judgments and acting. I wait for others to catch up before proceeding, and I'm sensitive to due process and proper pacing.

I Excel in Windows and Linux Systems Security:

I can modify Linux kernel and optimize it for use as a VM. My knowledge of Intrusion Preventions systems is comprehensive to the point of developing custom SNORT and Mod_Security signatures. I install and monitor more than simple tripwires. I detect real time changes in sockets and validate bin's to the inode level. I know the best practices for

“bastion testing” servers and pen testing apps. Know Beyond Trust and many Microsoft security and anti-malware suites. I've seen and stopped attacks in routing and on the switching fabric that puzzled my peers. 1
