My current objective is to continue my full-time work in the social service field. My current minimum salary requirement is $55,000 however that amount is negotiable.
I have worked over the last 25 years in a variety of public, government, and private social service agencies, both not-for-profit and for profit. Some of the clients I have served include adults and children with mental illness, dual diagnosis, individuals in the correctional system, and persons with HIV/AIDS. Some of those positions I have held include therapist, case manager, agency business manager, allocating and monitoring budgets, overseeing and writing grants and RFPs, and overseeing agencies that were the recipients of said RFPs and grants. I started as a direct care client worker and was promoted throughout my career to middle management and a supervisor of a significant number of staff members. I was a Certified Mental Health Professional from the State of Florida Certification Board. I have been described as resourceful, organized, and a results-oriented social services worker with multi-tasking dexterity and an exceptional amount of industry experience. During my career I have shown the capability to solve problems, the ability to develop and execute statewide pilot program strategies, as well as state and individual agency policy and procedures, the ability to maintain quality assurance, and the ability to prioritize a workload all with a high level of confidentiality and efficiency. I have been a successful intermediary, and am confident to perform as part of a team, with cross-functionally or independently as the situation dictates. I have been described as a valuable leader, cooperative team member, and a versatile employee. In addition to being in the social service industry, I also have worked in the retail industry and in the catering industry over the last 25 years.

*Substance Abuse Specialist and Case Manager in a homeless shelter. The clients on my caseload include both active substance users and those in different phases of recovery, along with other high risk individuals not in treatment, and trying engage them to enter supportive and/or recovery and addiction services with local community providers. Independent living and moving clients from the shelter system into their own residence is also the goal, as is employment and reentry services when applicable. Responsibilities also include intake procedures including completing all mental health and substance use/abuse intake assessments on new clients upon arrival, reporting statistics to state funders, providing referrals for clients to chemical dependency and mental health treatment, benefits and medical care, and other services where applicable, providing follow up for clients sent for referrals, and escorting clients to referral appointments where needed, all within the realm of providing therapeutic and case management services. The mobile team I supervised conducts street outreach targeting IDUs, sex workers, MSM, and others at risk of HIV/HCV infection, and offer harm reduction services, HIV and HCV counseling and testing, and referrals to services for clients in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam Counties. Responsibilities also included driving the team vehicle when necessary, state reporting to funders including the AIDS Institute, identification of program needs, service gaps, and recommend strategies, support the ongoing coordination of services and supportive systems to ensure continuity of intervention, monthly reporting to agency administration, providing referrals for clients to chemical dependency treatment, benefits, medical care, and other services where applicable, providing follow up for clients sent for referrals, and escorting clients to referral appointments where needed.
