SUMMARY

Having over twenty-six years experience in education with a strong background in leadership and management, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. I’m also a skilled communicator able to maintain cultural sensitivity; establish rapport with members of diverse groups; and promote team cohesiveness. Over the years I have gained expertise in providing curriculum development and implementation in schools; preparation and delivery of professional development workshops; and have provided training and mentoring for senior leaders and teachers. Lastly I have great success in motivating under-achieving students as well as encouraging and mentoring all students to reach their full potential.

SCHOOL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

CEO AISC FZE June 2014 through May 2017. AISC had private contracts in Dubai private schools and the MENA region. We drafted and defended academic plans for private clients; and restructured the management as well as the organization of existing schools for private clients. In addition, AISC advised clients regarding feasibility studies, referring them to school exterior/interior architects as a precursor to building new schools regionally.

Principal and Senior Education Consultant C-Pi Education LLC January 2012 through June 2014. C-Pi works with clients in writing academic plans, defending the academic plans and working with senior school leaders to identify key areas in need of improvement; draft an action/strategic development plan; and assist senior leadership in the implementation of the plan. During the summer C-Pi Education runs academic, weight and leadership camps in Dubai and the UK. I’ve been responsible for overseeing the academic camps in Dubai.

When serving as a executive principal daily oversight of the school was required in order to ensure the faculty delivered an exciting KG to 12 curriculum; implemented a streamlined timetable; managed the fiscal plant operations; drafted a three-year strategic development plan which included KPIs; identified problem areas and implemented an immediate action plan; vetting and hiring new staff; professional development; designing and implementing Service/Action/Creativity (SAC) program; designing and implementing S.A.I.L. (Students Achievement in Learning) program for underachievers; implemented and trained staff in delivering the USCCS from New Hampshire and implemented professional development program for all staff.

Head of English at Emirates International School Meadows Dubai, UAE. November 2010 through October 2011. Revamped the years 7-12 English department to bring the standards into alignment with international benchmarks; implemented scope and sequence for grades seven to nine; in collaboration with the department, we wrote schemes of work and implemented them for grades seven through nine; trained staff in the implementation and delivery of IBMYP; coordinating the I/GCSE English program; implementing the IBDP and wrote schemes of work for the new IBDP course for English Literature and IBDP Literature and Language; and implemented the use of assessment data to inform forward planning for all grade levels. While at CIC SNU Guilin I managed the daily operations of the school. English Teacher Advisor and Assistant Coordinator for English for Nord Anglia Education UAE. October 2008 through May 2009. Headhunted by Nord Anglia to assist in streamlining the English consultancy program for the company regarding their contract with the ADEC Education Reform Project.

Lead English Advisor and Teacher Advisor for School Improvement Partnership (GEMS SIP). August 2007 through September 2008. I had the pleasure of being responsible for English Teacher Advisors (TAs) in the implementation of ADEC English curriculum in kindergarten through grade ten. Coached, mentored, modeled best teaching practices; team teaching with local teachers; developed and implemented professional development workshops specifically dealing with teaching strategies, methodology, and pedagogy for all SIP English TAs. My additional role as Lead English Advisor also included participation and attendance at all ADEC English committee meetings regarding assessment, moderation, scope and sequence for SIP in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As an English TA I was responsible for supporting the leadership of the school in which I was assigned (Al Reef Secondary School for Girls in Shahama Abu Dhabi). While executing my role as a TA I worked in collaboration with my consultancy team so that desired corporate contract outcomes were achieved, we developed and implemented policies and procedures including a structure of financial planning; a uniform reporting system; a three year strategic development plan; whole school communication strategy; and built strong relationships within the wider school community. Further, my role as TA for English required me to work closely with our ESL Leader in preparing the local teachers in the school to take the IELTS examination.

As Head of Faculty I coached, mentored, and modeled best practices for all faculties; developed and implemented and streamlined clearly defined appraisal system for the faculty; and established a new assessment policy for students in the secondary school. As Head of English I streamlined the department in order to ensure continuity as well as providing curriculum alignment in accordance with the UK National Curriculum standards.

As a curriculum support specialist I coached, mentored, and advised local teachers; appraised the standard and practices of local teachers as well as providing professional development for them in a Qatari independent primary school assigned by the Supreme Education Council (SEC).

I had the pleasure of being responsible for supporting a bi-lingual school in English and Spanish maintaining both the US and Mexican accreditation.
