Responsible for forecasting and managing inventory for multiple TV lines. Was able to maintain 9-10 turns with the lines and also have no more than 10% of inventory aged. I participated in vendors CPFR process to make sure I maintained certain weeks of supply depending on the sku and time of year. On the merchandising side I created a TV template listing every sku that we carry. I categorized them in size, spec, sell, MAP, and margin. After doing that I highlighted skus to show which would be the “go to” in that size and spec. I used this as a negotiation tool when trying to get a better program. I also help create weekly and monthly specials and promotions for our dealers to help drive business. Lastly worked closely with the PRO Group dealers to help them advertise, promote, and forecast certain lines.

Promoted to corporate merchandiser responsible for working with our vendors, sales and purchasing team to make the decisions and set the direction for product assortments, pricing and terms. Responsible for a $190 million TV category comprised of over a 700 sku spread over 8 major manufacturers. Under my control the category grew 20% year over year in 2009 and 2010. In my tenure, balanced the sales by manufacturer to be less reliant on one or two vendors, spreading TV sales over our entire offering. Understood fully how each vendor operates, how they are different from one another, how they are organized, and how they price, promote and go to market with their product. Built sales strategies in consideration of the competitive landscape, growing sales for each individual vendor by limiting direct competition with the rest. Helped create an assortment tool adopted company-wide where skus were ranked and prioritizing the skus by three criteria: availability, salability, and profitability.

As the TV buyer I managed over $100 million with Samsung, Toshiba, LG, Pioneer, Sharp, and Panasonic. I worked closely with the sales team to accurately forecast each of our 315 accounts sell through. I worked closely with the vendors to assort the proper skus, taking the strengths and weaknesses of our accounts into consideration. Organized and presented the companies forecast and strategy to the vendors for approval. Participated in Samsung's CPFR program (collaborative planning forecast and replenishment) in which we maintained four or more weeks of supply, depending on the varying run rates or each quarter. With this discipline in mind, was able to turn inventory around 13 times each year.
