My passion has long been to communicate, motivate and manage. This passion has applied well to teaching a subject as intense as accounting. My responsibility has been to teach the fundamental accounting series including two sections of financial accounting and one section of managerial accounting. Our students transfered to University of Washington – Tacoma, Pacific Lutheran University, St. Martins University, and Washington State University.

Manage the daily affairs of the company, based in Plano, TX. Service Realty exclusively serves the church and non-profit communities. They are a real estat++e brokerage firm with over 35 years of experience in relocating churches, schools, retreat centers and camps. The company has led the largest and more complicated church and school relocations in recent history for the Puget Sound area of western Washington State. This work involves intense scrutiny of financial accounting statements, records and other supporting information. This process often begins with bringing the organization’s accounting practices in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for consideration by lending organizations.
Non-Profit Lending Consultant, Security Church Finance Inc. 1993 to March 2005
My work in this capacity was as an investment banker for non-profit organizations seeking debt capitalization. I assisted with the issuance of serial bond issues to the public. This work normally begins with close financial scrutiny of the client/borrower before moving to the next and subsequent steps. My clients were distributed over six Western states and up and down the west coast. The essence of this work was effective and continual communication with each client organization beginning with its leadership level and often moving throughout the entire organization. I worked with well over 100 organizations during my time is this work.
Owner, Mangum Consulting Firm. 1987 to 2010. The primary business of this company was conducting feasibility studies, largely in Alaska. I was hired by developers and/or banks to evaluate proposed projects. In addition to economic and market assessments, my work included building completely interactive financial models. These models allowed investors and lenders an opportunity to consider different revenue and operating assumptions. I also conducted regional economic assessments for local governments seeking an outside characterization of their respective economies
