Engineering Experience:

Gajanand Industries Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

Assistant Floor Space Supervisor Jan 2016-Dec 2016

Served as an assistant floor space supervisor in Gajanand Industries carrying out different types of manufacturing operation including drilling, boring and reaming.

Performed drilling operations on the workpiece according to the needs of the customer, the drilling operations included radial drilling and horizontal drilling.

My job was mainly to provide a design of the workpiece from the design engineer to the floor space supervisor and try to build the product strictly to the design made by the design engineer and avoid any kinds of errors.

The plan of the workpiece was carry forwarded to the laborers of the plant and my job was to constantly inspect whether the workpiece is made according to the design given by the design engineer and according to the requirements of the customer.

I also carried out inspection of the parts manufactured and looked for any types of errors in the part and only if there were no errors in the part, I passed it on to my floor space supervisor.

The inspection of the parts was done by checking the diameter of holes drilled into the workpiece by comparing it to the plan and these diameters of holes were checked using instruments such as vernier calliper and micrometer screw gauge.

Also worked in the company's casting furnace branch for a while where they produced cast iron dyes from cast iron scrap using the casting process and then removed the cast iron from the dyes to obtain a final cast iron product in the shape of the dyes.

Ambica Iron Product Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India

Mechanical Engineering Intern Jan 2015- Dec 2015

Served as a floor space supervisor in Ambica Iron Product plant whose main job is pulverizing and screening of grey cast iron powder.

The application of this grey cast iron powder is in dyes and chemical industries.

The main job was to produce fine grey cast iron powder of different mesh sizes from cast iron boring scrap

At first the cast iron boring scrap is fed into the hopper of the pulverizing machine to remove the carbon contents of the cast iron boring scrap and convert it into fine cast iron powder.

The screening process is then done to convert the grey cast iron powder into different mesh sizes according to the needs of the different parties and is then supplied to various parties.

My job was to supervise this entire process and inspect the work done by the laborers of the plant and report it to the proprietor of the firm.

Also did 3-D modeling of the pulverizing and screening machines in Solidworks as they required upgrading to meet the desired standards of the product

Undergraduate Project-

Effect of nanofluid on thermal conductivity of heat exchanger July 2016-May 2017

Prepared nanofluids of different concentrations by mixing it with distilled water and using it as working fluid in the heat exchanger fabricated by my team.

Made 3-D model of the heat exchanger we fabricated in Solidworks.

Carried out various experiments to check the heat transfer rate, effectiveness and thermal conductivity of the heat exchanger after using the working fluid as nanofluid and compared it with the readings obtained after doing experiments using the working fluid as water in heat exchanger.

Formidable rise in readings was observed when mixture of water and nanofluid was used instead of water as the working fluid.

Achievement:

Submitted a review paper entitled “Thermal characterization of Nanofluids-A review article” for possible publication in Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series C.
