ORTHOPTICS:
The practice of orthoptics consist of a comprehensive assessment of cases of squint. This includes an investigation of mode of onset of squint, determination of type of squint present, an estimation of the treatment of squint – especially with regard to the maintenance or, in certain cases, to the restoration or development of normal uniocular and binocular function.
CLINICAL WORK EXPERIENCE:
Worked clinically in all respective fields of eye as:
Examination of patients in general eye OPD, including history taking, visual acuity testing, refraction etc.
Counseling patients about the cataract, its causes, treatment & types of surgeries available
Conversant with pachymetry (central corneal thickness measurement) with knowledge of its importance.
Has good hold on tonometry including Schiotz tonometry, Tonopen tonometry, Applanation Tonometry.
Conversant with automated perimetry (especially with OCTOPUS & HUMPHERY Perimeters) and their interpretation.
Also has good command on disc morphometric analysis with HRT II and digital imaging of anterior segment of eye with Haag Strait eye cap instrument.
Hands on disc photography with mydriatic retinal camera & Canon non mydriatic retinal camera.
Good hand on Gonioscopy with two mirror and four mirror goniolens with interpretation of angle out flow structure.
Hands on corneal topography with Pentachem.
Conversant with Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscopy OCT (Optical Coherence Topography), ultrasound A & B – Scan and Fluorescien Angiography, IOL Master.
Squint evaluation and synoptophore exercise.
Good hands on Specular Microscopy with its interpretation.
OPERATION THEATRE WORK EXPERIENCE:
Assisted ophthalmic surgeons with all types of eye surgeries and handling, of surgical instrument.
Experience using the surgical techniques : PHECO EMULSIFICATION, LASIK, Intralase, CORNEA TRANSPLANT and LASERS.
CLINICAL TRIALS:
1.A Multicenter, Open-label Study to Evaluate the Safety and Efficacy of Twice-daily 0.01% Bimatoprost / 0.15% Brimonidine / 0.5% Timolol Ophthalmic Solution (Triple Combination) in Patients in India, who Have Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertension With Elevated IOP, and are on Twice-daily 0.2% Brimonidine / 0.5% Timolol Ophthalmic Solution (Dual Combination) Therapy (CTRI/2010/091/002922).
2.Assessing the Safety and Efficacy of changing to Travacom (Travoprost/Timolol Fixed Combination), as replacement therapy in patients with uncontrolled intraocular pressure across India (CTRI/2010/091/000523).
3.A phase 2b, double masked, randomized, active-controlled, dose- response study assessing the safety and ocular hypotensive efficacy of ar-12286 in patients with elevated intraocular pressure for 3 months (CTRI/2012/09/003018).
