EXPERIENCE
NASA projects (Aug 2016 – May 2017)
Doubly Fed Induction Motor Control System
• Analyzed the current motor system; replace the current PID controller with ADRC to make the system be optimized for best performance.
• Researched on BBO and implement the algorithm to optimize the current PID controller.
• Applied BBO on new designed controller(ADRC) then compare it with an optimized PID.
• Developed a motor module with controller in MATLAB, and NASA would like to test them on their current control mechanism.
DC-DC converter with a signal conditioning loop
• Identified and clarified customer needs, then select parts for a DC to DC converter with a signal conditioning loop (FPGA).
• Minimized the propagation delay within the signal conditioning circuit below 100ns which NASA needs.
• Wrote a VHDL code on FPGA to control the output between 0 to 20 V which depends on the input.
• Consisted of many different block diagrams, each within its own subsection, to physically allow the full logic to be applied into a PCB in the future.
Implement a MIPs CPU on FPGA
• Understood the computer organization especially in CPU; drew data path of a MIPs CPU and analyzed most control signal of the CPU.
• Used VHDL to implement all the control signals on a FPGA.
• Updated the control signals to ALU controls then implement the ALU on FPGA by using VHDL.
