Product Development Intern, First Energy - Thermax
(September 2016 – March 2017)
Achievements and responsibilities:
Project – Design, development and prototyping of fuel delivery system based on Rotary feed mechanism, integrated with load cells and microcontroller for automatic feed regulation.
Assess boiler efficiency and performance, boiler operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Develop biomass combustors, heat transfer equipment and product subassemblies. Generate CAD models and drawings in Solidworks based on designs.
Select motors, and carry out calculations based on boiler efficiency and dryness fraction.
Conduct trials on products under development and create conclusive reports suggesting design changes to improve efficiency of the process. Project Lead, Design Simulation and Prototyping of a Biomimetic Serpentine
(March 2015 – May 2016)
Achievements and responsibilities:
Design and develop a segmental mechanism of a serpentine bot, modelling it in catia, analyse and simulate in Adams view.
Prototype the mechanism and integrate with Microcontroller to test and validate.
This project was presented in various research conferences and has been published in the Indian journal of Science and Technology.
Design Head, Kraftwagen(off road BAJA Racing)
(March 2015 – February 2016)
Achievements and responsibilities:
Lead the vehicle design by overseeing subsystem integration of the vehicle frame, Suspension, powertrain, brakes, steering with the respective department heads by establishing constraints.
Head the frame and suspension design departments with a comprehensive study of Race Car Vehicle Dynamics and simulate the suspension in Adams Car and Lotus Shark.
Design suspension geometry and tune pneumatic shocks based on damping calculations, terrain and testing.
Design optimised wheel assembly components such as wheel hubs and knuckles, optimised brake discs, gearbox casing, etc.
Structurally and thermally analyse/optimise above components in Ansys workbench.
The vehicle ended up among top 10 design teams, and top 10 CAE teams. Roll cage designer, Kraftwagen(off road BAJA Racing)
