WORK EXPERIENCE:
ASHOK LEYLAND (HEAVY COMMERCIAL VEHICHLE) :- (26-12-2012 to 16-06-2017)
1.VEHICLE EVALUATION & TESTING (VET)
Conducting all types of tests after completion of proto build or changes in system wise..
oCompressor duty cycle test:-Measuring the amount of time a compressor engaged and disengaged in percentage.
Instruments used:- MW100 logger, pressure transducers and RPM sensors.
oArticulation test: - The objective of the test is to check the working clearances of chassis and aggregate components and bring out the critical clearances and fouling at operating conditions. The Test shall be done when changes are made in any of the following chassis components.
oConstant speed fuel consumption: To establish standardized procedures for comparing fuel consumption in vehicles at constant speed. This is applicable to new as well as standard models, whenever changes are made in the engine, fuel pump (and specified settings), clutch, gear box ration and type, rear axle ratio and type, axle loadings, tyre size and type and front end structure.
Instruments used: Corrsys DAS3A logger for measurements of distance, running time and
Speed, Fuel flow meter
oCity fuel consumption: To establish standard procedure for comparing city fuel consumption in passenger vehicles and applicable to new as well as standard models, whenever changes are made in the engine, fuel pump (and specified settings), clutch, gear box ratio and type, rear axle ratio and type, axle loadings, tyre size and type and front end structure
Instruments used:-Fuel flow meter.
oHighway fuel consumption: To establish standard procedure to compare the fuel consumption of vehicles This is applicable to new as well as standard models, whenever changes are made in the engine, fuel pump (and specified settings), clutch, gear box ratio and type, rear axle ratio and type, axle loadings, tyre size and type and front end structure.
Instruments used:-Fuel flow meter.
oEvaluation of maximum speed: To establish standardised procedures for evaluation of maximum speed of vehicles. This is applicable to new models during performance testing as well as standard models whenever changes are effected in frontal area, engine, gear box ratio, rear axle ratio, tyre size and axle loading.
Instruments used: DAS 3A logger for measurement of distance, time and speed.
oEvaluation of acceleration: To evaluate maximum acceleration of the test vehicle under stipulated conditions. Acceleration shall be evaluated on all new prototype vehicles during performance testing or whenever any changes are effected in frontal area, engine, gear box ratio, rear axle ratio, axle loading or tyre size in the current models.
Instruments used: DAS 3A logger for measuring speed, distance & time.
oEvaluation of Grade-ability: The object of this test is to determine:
a) The maximum gradient on which the fully laden test vehicle can re-start (stop/start).
b) The maximum gradient on which the fully laden test vehicle can climb.
Grade ability test shall be carried out in all prototypes of new model vehicles for
Performance Check. It shall also be carried out in the event of changes in engine and
Transmission types and Ratios, brakes etc. (Whenever the vehicle spec is updated with
Above changes).
Instrument used: RPM indicator, Data logging system, angle star for measuring gradient
angle (Whenever required).
oMeasurement of external & internal noise: To establish standardised procedures for comparing external & internal noise levels. External & internal noise level shall be measured in the event of sign off / performance testing of new models. It shall also be measured in the event of changes in engine, FES, exhaust system, rear axle ratio and type, Wheel Base and tyre size.
Instruments used: Sound level meter, RPM indicator, anemometer.
oEndurance Test :- To assess the structural durability of a prototype vehicle or unit under the high stress conditions of the technical center endurance track namely Pave, Corrugation, Herring bone, Sets, Articulated track and pot hole tracks.
oCooling performance of automotive engine cooling system: The purpose is to provide detailed procedures for assessing the cooling system of automotive vehicles. It can be used for individual tests or can be used as a complete program for validation of a new system.
Static cooling test:
Filling and system capacity test
De-aeration test
Coolant depletion test.
Air flow test (Static test): Average airflow velocity across radiator: It is the average
Velocity of Cooling air measured in front of radiator on a minimum of 12 sections of the
Radiator core at Definite Engine/ Fan RPM.
Hot air Re circulation: The air flow measured in opposite direction to the regular air flow is
Called Hot air recirculation. Hot air re circulation may be due to the air hits on bonnet wall,
bus body Structure etc. and gets reflected back.
Instrument used: Anemometer.
Dynamic cooling test:
a)Cooling performance test (High load at max power/max torque)
b)Hot shut test (Hot engine stop test).
Air intake depression (AID).
Instruments used: -Thermocouples, Rpm sensors, MW100 logger, pressure transducers.
oBrake test: To check the brake performance in Static and dynamic conditions as per IS 11852 standard.
Static test:-
a)Line Pressure in the front and rear to be measured against the pedal force
b)b) Reaction time.
Dynamic Brake test:
a)P Test with engine disconnected
b) P Test with engine connected
c)Secondary brake test
d)Exhaust brake test
e)Parking brake test
f)F Test
g) H Test
oTurbo duty cycle:-Measuring the turbo speed at different conditions of the vehicle speed.
Instrument used:-Engine rpm, propeller rpm turbo charger wheel speed measuring device, pressure transducers
2.PROTOSHOP: -
