Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:

Direct the timely conduct of security background investigations and analyze results for compliance with Executive Orders 10450 and 12968, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 704 and title 5 of the Code of Federal Regulation part 731 95 CFR 731).

Analyze available information to create and submit investigative leads containing instructional guidance to Background Investigative Coordinators, Special Investigators, and other personnel involved in the security background process.

Review incoming cases to determine the scope of the investigation required, address/clarify potential issues regarding investigative clarification, and prepare instructional guidance to security personnel.

Determine factors which might affect the suitability of applicants and current employees with the Federal Government as codified in 5 CFR 731.202 in order to reach sound conclusions and make recommendations based on current and previous information obtained in employment background investigations.

Routinely and successfully facilitate the amicable resolution of competing or conflicting interests among internal and external staff members whose cooperation is needed to meet the agency’s objective.

Interact effectively in daily situations where frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events arise that cause major shifts in priorities, timetables, or work assignments.
